Idea for Body mount / Clod Buster body / SCX10 Dingo

I was excited when I came across this idea to mount the Clod Buster body to my Dingo kit chassis - hope there is not too much eye rolling since I am just a newbie and this has been done fifteen thousand times before ;-)
This is still work in progress and far from finished, but it works perfect for now. I found some vintage servo mounts in my old RC box / any other metal angle for your specific length will do it too. So I got rid of the chassis end and built a hinge from some rod and pipe that were left over from building my own links. Just get the right lengths for your body and you can perfectly adjust height and distance to chassis! Hope you get the idea from the pictures. This could also be mounted to the standard chassis end if you needed the standard holes for the bumper, but the single rod is very sturdy.
How do you like the idea?


And you might want to add some kind of safety harness so the body doesn't fall over - an old shoe lace worked fine!

Never be afraid or ashamed to show off what you have done or to post up a tip or trick that you think may be helpful.

Yes, we have a large member base of extremely knowledgable seasoned RC veterans, but we also have the up and coming members new to the hobby and eager to see any and all tips.

A helpful tip however would be to do a search for whatever you are about to post to see if the same thing has been posted by another member. If that ends up being the case, it may be best to add/share your version in the same thread instead of starting a new one"thumbsup"

I hold in the same way, but take the body to tie holes thereby to the shock towers.

I was able to start building my Dingo / Clod Buster - still long way to go. I am still looking for a front bumper and how to mount the body there. Maybe velcro on the shock towers or a pin/screw, that goes through the body underneath the front bumper into the frame. I am not sure if I understood your message: You mount your body to the shock towers? Do you still have the original / stock shock towers in the back? I took mine out since they were too tall and replaced the shock mounts with lower ones.

Good idea! Can you open it all the way? I removed the shock towers, because I want the body lower... I don't have much time right now to work on it, but at least I finished my Dingo. Guess I am going back to we're you came from: defender ;-) look, my first styrene attempt:
