Hulksta Riddler with a dash of Dlux

First time ever through your thread this morning and I have to say it's amazing from first post to last. Equipment from two of the Hobbies most creative minds and your skillful attention to detail and careful assembly come together in a very inspirational way. The video clearly demonstrates the machine and driver capability. I love the Huksta's wheel design. So now I just want to stay home and work on my rigs. Great thread .. "thumbsup"

Wish you would have notified me about the sidewinder. I bought those brand new... anyway what ever did you do with those $$ wheels i would love to buy them back as well as the swith chassis. Nice build .

Different sidewinder.
Your ones are still working fine.

On of my local crawler mates got the chassis and the wheels. He's using them as his starting point for a pro rig.

Yep,i might drive this one, maybe not though, every time u build i go out and crawl and i look around at all the people talking blah blah blah and cryin about stuff so i sell, i really enjoy building them though. Anyway glad to see you got this one going, there will be another super high end build coming to a classified near you.lol

Hey filo...it doesn't appear that you are using the open set up....it appears pinned or fixed, no small shock...is that true?

Have you found a suitable 70 mm shock? If so, what was it? I am looking for one and can only find RC4wd internal spring style 70 mm...not a fan of those. Any other suggestions?

Thanks...

I suppose that would work...or any other shortened shock
Next question is one or two...

Started looking at touring car shocks to find a 70 mm...most of the time they don't even mention the length at all...I guess you're just supposed to know...a bit frustrating

Thanks for chiming in Highlucks "thumbsup"

I run a shortened scx shock with the Hulksta bladder mod.

Shock body is 10mm shorter
I use a 30mm shock shaft with the icon shock piston.
Use a short spring with high tension. If the spring is to long you get spring bind and the opening operation isn't smooth.

Don't try using an egressor/rcbro body. You don't get very much extension. I lost 10mm in extension just swapping bodies. I think it's becaue of the internals that suit the big bore seals.
It works much better with the scx10.

Don't waste your time with shock oil in it. You need to use a thick diff oil

In the video I drove back to back lines with it opened and pinned just to show it working.
Double check everything for binding when your building. The way it opens you can rub on your wires if not ran correctly.

If you like heaps of caster make sure you give yourself a bit more then normal because the caster decreases and the shock opens.

we have lift off...

this is it RTR with some custom wheels made buy Hulksta.
Ione of my crawling buddies kept ripping his tyres off using the dlux style wheel, because I was getting ready for the nationals I didn't really want anything like this happen. I spoke with Hulksta about making some in bead lock and he worked his magic.

Is this tire luge on on one side and beadlock on the other. It's hard to tell. Cool designe for sure.

What is the Hulksta Bladder Mod?

This is the build thread he has done.

Pro rig shock Tech - General Tech - CrawlANZ

I haven't seen any other threads about it.

The wheels are glue on one side and bead lock on the other. Very similar to the dlux style wheel, I just like the security of the bead lock. I've seen a guy rip his wheel faces out a few times in the super high traction rock we drive.

Thanks for that....very much...answered several questions for me "thumbsup"
Was thinking of no oil at all...just an internal spring. A fairly stiff spring at that.
You must have a limiter inside...and it runs compressed most of the time correct? So it can't be too stiff....have to play with that I suspect.
I have Egressor shocks for the main 4 ....been looking around for scx10 shocks/rebuild kit...can't believe I got rid of them and never kept a set in all the scx10 builds I have. Hard to find guts for these...about ready to post up a wanted thread for used stuff.
Thanks for sharing your info mate "thumbsup"
