Good idea. Only problem is... it kinda premotes the growth of weeds. Which you really dont need nor want on a good crawler course. My suggestion-- before weeds grow on the dirt you put in, spray it with weed killer about once every 3 weeks to a month.
somthing thats workd really good for a smaller coarse to help keep weeds down is rock salt like you would use in youre water softner.A bit cheaper than roundup and i think it works better, ive found it last longer.

How to build a crawling course:step-by-step

To Crawlerdude75,
Thanks for showing myself and many others how to build a rock crawling course, that is basically what I had in mind on building. It looks good. Any problem with the barrel cactus. I have had two runs in with cacti no more cactus for me. I will try and post my pictures, but I have to get the film developed using a 35mm camera. Not hi-tech yet.
Again thanks

backyard course

Great ideas! It is always a good idea to make it blend in so the new gardens intended purpose is not that obvious to others :)

another cool way to add some flavor to your course is install one of the black tubs used for ponds. They ost prctically nothing, just need a hole dug for them, then pile rocks in them and add water. You can reate some cool wet rock courses with them.

Round river rocks here in Upstate NY. Tough to crawl when wet. We try splitting a few to get some jagged edges exposed. Great thread.
