I see a lot of talk on what shocks everyone is using, but how long are they?

These, Carisma Aluminum Oil-Filled Shock Set, for MSA-1E.

The rc4wd are 40mm.

Just wanted to know if someone actually measured some.
I looked at many threads, but no-one post lengths.
Thanks in advance.

BRB, i will measure mine right now.

EDIT: Mine are 47MM from top to bottom, including the eye hole.

You will have to get creative on mounting them. Or you will be too high if you were planning to install them in the stock positions.

I used front shock towers off an rgt crawler and rear tray leg bolt for the rear shocks.

Thank you.
That's all I needed to know.
Now I can look for some options that length.

Which wheels and tires are you running? That thing looks mean!

Thank you sir.

You're welcome. And thank you for the info. Hopefully wheels and tires start rolling into stock sooner rather than later.

Yeah I noticed that! What happened to all the micro tires. I was hoping for some new designs by now. I feel bad for those stuck with stock tires.

I bought some RC4WD tyres, some spare machete wheels, and the tyres don’t fit, the customs charges make RC4WD wheels coming up over £150, which I can’t justify on a £100 truck, so I’m sadly stuck with the stocks, and they are disappointing.

Oh no. Yup, the Axial wheels do not seem to like RC4WD tires.

Have you looked at maybe HBX devatator wheels? I think the UK version was called the FTX IBEX 1/24th. Those are 16 bucks for a set of two with wheels (crappy wheels, but they look cool) that you can most likely put your RC4WD tires on.

Not all the RC4WD tires are tall or wide enough for those wheels though. The scramblers fit perfectly. And Im pretty sure the patagonia do too. And the wranglers as well... I believe.

Check this out. I found a FTX IBEX parts reseller in the UK. Looks like you can buy the wheels or tires or both. Be warned. If you just buy the wheels, you will need to get the beadlock rings AND hardware. I just buy the complete wheel and save the monster truck tires.

Bigworm, 47mm at your current setting? Curious to know what they measure at maximum and minimum height.

Looking to mount oil filled shocks on a miniz 4wd. Stock shock mounts measure around 40mm, center of hole to hole with a 30mm spring.

All numbers are approximate using a tape measure since I don’t have my gauge on me.

They were 47MM full height and 36MM fully compressed flat. I have a Mini Z buggy myself. With mini Z brand oil shocks.

Looking at them, I can see the mini Z shocks still much smaller in length over the carisma shocks FULLY COMPRESSED. Plus the eye holes on the carisma are almost twice the size of the mini T ones.

I have these oil shocks on my Mini Z buggy. And they are TINY compared to the carismas.

Thanks, mini-z Buggy shocks might work with some modification to the bottom mounts. Ordered a set of Amazon for $24 shipped.
