HobbiCo / Great Planes / Tower Hobbies

ETA: I guarantee a new Cherokee (especially the Trailhawk) would destroy a stock XJ offroad. They're ugly soccer mom looking things, but the XJ was looked at the same way for a long time too.

Some people like to forget that the XJ was one of the earliest crossovers with it's unibody construction...

Nobody cares about your piece of crap vehicles. This here thread is about our new overlord Traxxial rising from the ashes!

Funny I thought it waa about Hobbico's mismanagement and getting caught and sued for stealing somebody elses intellectual property coming back and biting them in the ass.

Nope. I miss my accord station wagon but not my aerostar I dd'd in my drunken days. The culhurch van was always parked in front of the bars and the cops never looked twice.

the liberty is ugly and Barbie ish.. but there are other jeeps that should have not made it to production. but non the less... I forgot italeri was under hobbico....

If by destroy, you mean best sales the brand has ever seen and a model lineup that cashes in on buyer demands for CUVs, without compromising the Wrangler or Grand Cherokee, literally, doing what a car company is exactly supposed to do, then I guess you can call that a failure...

Best sales? FCC is bankrupt, has been for over a year. They approached GM last year to buy them and GM told them to go pound sand. The Jeep line is the only one showing any profit and that's from Wrangler sales. The latest gossip is that Hyundai and the Chinese company that owns the Hummer brand name are looking at FCC.

RAM and Jeep are posting excellent sales. Jeep sold more last year than Subaru and Hyundai. RAM is on par with GMC. FCA is number 4 in terms of yearly sales for 2017 - behind GM, Ford and Toyota. Your idea of bankrupt differs from the actual market data and results.

FCA has seen net profit increases as of Q3 - 50% year-to-year increase. They are on track to remain profitable and increase market share, especially with the Jeep brand.

There were merger rumors but they didn't go anywhere that was last year. And there's nothing wrong with merger talks - FCA knows how to make trucks and SUVs, but not sedans and small cars. A merger would've enabled them to use a developed platform to save costs instead of developing something new that wouldn't pan out - ie the Chrysler 200, Dodge Dart.

You must be delusional if you think the Wrangler is the only reason Jeep is showing profits. The Renegade sells well globally, the Compass and Cherokee sees good sales. The Grand Cherokee does well too. The Wrangler is the most expensive Jeep to engineer and shares very little to other FCA vehicles.

Jeep sells nearly many Cherokee/Liberty's as it does Wranglers, but the Grand Cherokee is the best seller.

Actually, I was talking about the Wrangler, after all, if Barbe has a Jeep, it is a convertable"thumbsup":ror:

That said, I do see a decent number of Grands, KL Cherokees (although I do get disapointed then they are V-6 powered and Trailhawks) as well as Renegades and I'm now starting to see more the new Compass on the streets too. Best part, none of them are the poser Bro-Trucks you see Wranglers turned into!

Jeeps are gay. Let's not ruin this discussion with those pieces of shit.
