HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place)

Received my 3pos. Winch controller today, only a week from Canada. First impression was how small this thing is! Quaility product, nicely put together with nice guage wire and a solid feeling plug. Got it soldered up to my titanium geared savox I converted. The case on the savox is considerably shorter than my other hitecs and rtr servos, and the controller fit right in like it was made for it. Hooked it up to my hacked gt3b and it fired right up. No drifting at all. Exactly as it's made to be. Not sure if this m you rx/tx or if it's in the controller. But there is a slight delay on start up. Not on stopping though. I like this because I'm using a momentary switch, if I accidentally hit it it has the delay. It will pick my 7 lb scaler right off the ground with ease, and the hold it has programmed in holds it there. All in all, a great product at an even greater price. Thanks Heyok!

Thank you for the review!

That delay was built in on purpose because with out it, users of the lower end Spektrum transmitters would be sending me lots of reports of their winches running for a split second every once in a while. The delay ensures that a servo signal longer than the normal glitching that the Spektrum outputs is received before it makes the winch move. It was the best compromise I could come up with.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with "gt2b"

Do you have one? Is it's third channel a two or three position channel?

I don't have one, but was trying to help a friend get a simple third channel controller. We have some guys in our club with them but I don't think they have used the third channel. I think it's an on and off button. So im assuming 2p but I was hoping you knew so we ordered the correct winch controller.

If you can reach one of your friends that has one, have them plug in a servo into CH3 and try it. If it only moves to two positions, the two position controller is the one you need.

I tried some searching on the gt2b and the best I can tell is CH3 is only a two position channel. I can find a link to the manual but it doesn't work, just times out.

If you friend is buying a new transmitter, try and get him/her to save a few more $ and get the GT3C or GT3B so it can be modified at some point. It will take a long time to outgrow one of those.

Hello, i recently flashed the hacked firmware on the GT3C and in the meantime got familiar with the configuration Menu

Previously used the HeyOK Winch with 2 position switch, tried to set this up but still have no idea how to program it to work as before.
Please help. :)

There is a great thread in the electronics section of the forum:
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/electronics/321742-gt3b-hack-question-answer-thread.html

Or maybe go to the place where you purchased your stuff to do the GT3C hack.

When I have a chance, I will see if I can find the information for you, but self serve might be faster at the moment.

I sent you to that thread to encourage you to find the information because everything is in that thread. How did that work for you?

I went and looked myself. Here is how to operate receiver CH4 as a two position channel using the END button:

Thank you for the fast Reply! Wasnt able to answer sooner.
The Problem was that on the new 8 channel Receiver i got there are 3 Channels that are not working!
So what you linked is exactly what works and what i tried before, but after switched to another channel that is ok.

Sorry to bother you with this stuff (GT3C and broken RX Channels) and again big thx for your help!

Welcome.
Did you set the model memory that you are using to the number of channels you want to use? By default, I think it is only 3 channels. If I recall, you long press on MODEL and the number shown is the number of channels the model will use.

yes i know, the 8 channels are enabled.
Working: 1, 2, 6, 7, 8
Broken: 3, 4, 5

...i tried desperately the whole time on CH3

Finally went through all Channels above and applied the exact same settings.
Turnigy 9XBC btw.

Just placed a order on your web store for a "no brainer" bec and led switch. Looking forward to getting them. Thanks!

Thank you for the order, Dan!
For anyone else, feel free to order either by sending me a PM or on the web store. Sometimes the web store is a pain, so if you don't see exactly what you want, send me a PM or an email.
