Well, the packages came in today I have been waiting several weeks for...

My first impression was "WOW, these are HUGE!!!" :o

Here are the comparison to the popular Losi and Panther tires (unmounted):

Here are the foams that came with them, vs the taller "All-Weather" NWT Reach Foams... The ones that came with it are stiffer than the NWT foams, but a lot shorter. I don't know why they put such a short foam with a tall tire. They remind me of stock losi foams.

They have nice sidewall reinforcements built in. These are the easiest tires I have ever mounted before by far. I have mounted about every proline/losi/panther tire there is. The bead on these are top notch.

Here they are mounted on my Mayhem wheels as compared to the panthers mounted up. (these are the fronts at full weight)..

On the crawler...

I just ran them for about 10 minutes on my garage testing course. (It is actually pretty hard for something in the garage.) I can say I made lines with these tires I never made with the panthers. They also did every other line I had done with the panthers even easier. I haven't had losi's on it since I redid my comp rig to be able to accurately compare them on the test course. They seem to be a hair bouncy, but with some foam adjusting I should be able to get them dialed in.

Bottom line, I am impressed. They climb better than Panthers and they side-hill better than Panthers. Not to mention they are also taller. I would say this may become the next tire to run. Time and testing will tell. I will be at our local comp place throughout the week and will post up more as I drive on them for a few days. "thumbsup"

How is the rubber compound in comparison to the panthers? Softer/Firmer, Stickier, etc? Are those the Soft or the Medium's? Do they smell like pot when you take them out of the bag like the panthers?? LOL. I've been eyeing these tires, and have also been told by someone who has ran them that I should be looking to make the jump from panther to these tires...

I to have heard good things from these if they turn out better than panthers my comp rig will have new tires soon any my Losi mrc will have 1.9 panthers

By the pics, you installed your All Weather Reach foams??
Soft enough, but the tire reinforcement sidehills well?

My Lizard-Claws did not sidehill well at all. I ended up making my own foams with higher density middles with softer starcut around that.

Googled the name and model number with no hits. Where did you order them from?

thx

They remind me a lot of the Losi's in compound. I would say the panthers are a hair softer feeling. The compound I have are the softs. No pot smell, they are actually some of the non-smelliest tires I have messed with lately... LOL. I will feel them up again real good tonight and give some more feedback on the compound. ;-)

Yes they are the ones installed in the pics. They are not as firm as the ones that come with them. however the ones that come with them are much shorter. Not sure why they supply such a short foam with a tall tire? I may add some more foam for additional support once I get some real driving time on them... I am going to our local comp spot on Wednesday to run them so I will be able to give better feedback on this particular foam set-up then. I was out there this past Saturday for a club GTG so I know the lines we took that day and should be able to replicate them pretty well. If I had to guess I would say they may need a hair more foam just from my experience so far from running it around the garage. The foams are the All-Weather Reach foams by NWTT. I bought them from TCS. "thumbsup"

Ran a few packs through them before it got dark... I REALLY like them. I crawled stuff I have never done with any other tire today. "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

A few notes on the foam set-up:
Overall they did very well and the All-Weathers are a good starting point. I may stiffen on the rear a hair bit more. The fronts seemed to fold over on hard turns pretty bad, but they never slid off line either. I am thinking of sectioning a few stock foams around the outside of the All-Weathers in the rear and sandwiching the all-weathers in the front with a few slices of stock foam and see how it does. Even with only the all-weathers in them they never seemed to ball up real bad or fold over themselves. They don't seem near as finicky about the foams as the Cougars did. I will report some more on them when I get out and drive it some more this evening after work.

The extra height seemed to help a lot on the terrain I mostly run on. There are a lot of ledges and places to high center on.

As for compound the "softs" feel between the Losi Claws and the Panther Cougars. Their performance didn't dissipate the dirtier they got like my cougars did either.

Again, I was really impressed. They are tall. I noticed my comp rig feeling a little more top heavy with these tires on it. I can negate that side effect though with a little tweaking on my Suspension ride height and wheelbase. (I run a 12-1/4" wheelbase for those who where curious...)

I ran the hell out of these last Sat. and this review is dead on. I agree I think these are the tires to have. I could go on and tell you all about their performance but it I'd just be saying the same thing Rojo posted. I will say I'm not going back to Claws (never ran the panthers, just too ugly IMO)

rpp has them too I think...

On a testing note I ran another 2 packs through them yesterday. I am still impressed with them... I really like how they do well under full throttle launches, but they also can be crawled very slowly. This is the most versatile tire I have driven on so far. they seem to be holding up fairly well too. They are not wearing near as quick as my panthers did.

hmmm, i cant wait for mine to come in! Now to figure out what foams to run! Ordered mine for RPP on wednesday night, corey said they shipped out on thursday going priority!

Im Pumped, great write up!

got mine in today mounted them up and i was goin up sheet my panthers wouldnt touch in my course in my yard cant wait to try them with my mayhems on the way this may be the only tire i will buy guess im offing my panthers irons and hammers:lol:

I wonder what they were thinking when they matched em with the itty bitty foams.

My guess is that it leaves an air gap between the tire and foam, allowing the tire to get a nice, large contact patch.

I just got mine in and mounted and plan to run them for the first time on Tuesday. I will be running them with stock foams to start with. It will be cold on Tuesday, about 35*, so I guess I will see if/how they hook up in the cold.
