Have tech questions? Will answer.

Incorrectly installed horn, end points or sub trim set wrong, bad servo.

Hang up and Drive

Horn is on right(I think), when I go to set endpoints, it won’t save them, it just keeps going back to full turn right, no turn left. Just bought my servo about 2 weeks ago.

Could be something in the servo gears, TX settings, binding on the links... Most like the servo is dead or needs new gears. Stock servos in crawling don't have servo savers so they take some heavy apuse that stock plastic traxxas gears can't withstand.

Too bad I don’t have the Traxxas link connector in my radio. I just bought the servo 2 weeks ago. I’m going to Email AMain Hobbies and see if they’ll refund. It shouldn’t be dead in under 2 weeks with very little driving.

Traxxas servos are decent, but I still expect them to break every time I use them. I am not trying to be eletiest or anything but I don't trust any servo under $100.

If you hit a curb wrong at half throttle consider it dead, if it isn't, you're driving on borrowed time.

Quick Q: getting a TRX-4 sport kit soon, HW880 on 4s.

Would the Crawlmaster sport 15t 550 work with stock gearing? Need just enough wheelspeed to pop over stuff. It's the only 550 sport they have in stock where I'm getting the TRX.

The low end resolution of the 880 esc is not as good as the crawlmaster motors. So you would be better off with a trailmaster 21t for the extra torque imo.

Is the crawlmaster 550 15t too hot in a trx6 on 3s 2200 spektrum smart packs? I have 5000 50c packs, but really like the difference when running the small packs with the 21t trailmaster.

I can gear down to 9t pinion if need be

Should be just fine!

Hi there John,

Have been looking at the SWM2 and wondered if it would be man enough to power a snub nose in a lightweight comp rig?

I had a thread about this a while back but no definitive, pmd Robert and he thought it may be possible but recommended asking if you had tried this combo and your thoughts?.

Thanks

1800kv and under is not a problem. 2500kv has been giving some people problems, but I think it is more of trail running and not short time comps. Some punch control will smooth out amp draws if needed.

Why does my Savox servo on my TRX4 only turn right and not left?

Could be a lot of reasons. have another servo to test?

I’ve got some dragbrake issues with my Bomber, and I can’t get proper dragbrake anymore.
My bomber got a Mamba X with a Castle Slate 3800kv. I’m running a 64t spur, and 9t pinion.

I’ve tried different esc setting, and followed your instrutions videos on YouTube with no luck. Could it be the motor that causes the problem?

Not a Holmes product tech question but i didn’t want to start a new thread. I installed a 550 axe system into my trx6 using tqi radio and traxxas receiver, i cant get the axe ESC to see throttle input so i can calibrate the throttle inputs. The light in the traxxas receiver is green, so it sees the radio, the steering works. Ive tried to reset the radio neutral range setting , Ive tried a old spectrum receiver and radio just to test it and it sees throttle,i feel like ive tried everything. Any help would be appreciated.

Try reversing the throttle channel on the radio then calibrate.

Anyway, I went with the 27t TM sport for my TRX-4 sport kit, fine stock on 3s, will gear down a bit for 4s, for more turk and about same top speed.

Oh and a couple of days ago I drove a buddies SCX10-2 with a crawlmaster pro in there... that was some smooooth sh*t :)

I have an scx10.2 with 1800kv revolver, sidewinder 4, shv500v3 and a Traxxas tqi radio and receiver. The sw4 beeps every ten seconds and most of the time the servo twitches the wheels when it beeps. How do I stop this?

As a side note, this is my first quality servo and first brushless setup. Can’t say enough about every HH product I’ve used so far.

Which direction do you look at the motor to determine rotation?

Thats probable the idle beep, you turn it off with a castle link.

Motors turn in either direction, just swap the wires. Look at the pinion, clockwise or counter clockwise from there. Sealed can motors should have zero timing and can turn either direction. Rebuildable motors can be swapped by switching the wires as well. If they have advanced timing you just need to adjust that for the corresponding rotation.

Can any of the fine Holmes fellas tell me what the Lil Tugger’s story is. What is the appropriate application, kv rating, how it compares to other Magnum motors? The description on the website didn’t help me much. Just curious because it’s the coolest name for a motor (maybe ever) and if I can utilize one I may need to kiss the wife’s booty so she’ll get me one. Thanks y’all!

The Lil tugger is meant for things like the Tamiya Lunchbox and other sort of small, kind of go fasts. It is not a crawler motor.

My favorite part about the motor is the video they put together, so funny!

EDIT: I asked a long while back and got this, also the video linked explains the motors applications.

I have one question, why aren't we getting these amazing videos here on RCCrawler??
https://www.facebook.com/HolmesHobb...07645/?__so__=permalink&__rv__=related_videos

So is this motor okay for most light "go fasts"?

Also if we order one can we get a sticker with that lil' tugger logo? that would be awesome!

it's not really for go fasts, maybe a go medium

Humboldt, thanks for that answer and link. Video cracked me up. I have a MST CFX-W, kit build, no extra weight except aluminum beadlocks. I have the inexpensive Holmes Crawlmaster Sport 13T 540 motor in it now and it works just fine. I’d like to put a premium motor in it now but don’t want to overpower the rig, since some people’s reviews and opinions on this truck state that the portal gears are prone to breaking. I haven’t had this issue but the truck performs amazing so why take the chance with a monster torque motor? That’s why the Lil Tugger (hahahahaha!) caught my eye. I’ll take a peek at the other motors and see what looks good for my setup. Thanks again!

I have a futaba 4pls radio, a castle creations motor esc combo, mamba X, and a futaba R304sb-e receiver. I have linked them up but what I found was in forward throttle there is low power and a one second delay. In reverse no delay and good power. It's as if reverse and forward are switched. I've tried swapping wires on motor changing settings in esc via cc link. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a sensored brushless setup? if so put the wires back to ABC-ABC, you can only swap the wires is its sensorless.

Have you tried reversing the throttle from the radio?
