Have tech questions? Will answer.

That's the only difference? So basically the Lil Tugger is comparable to a TorqueMaster Pro Magnum 540, just slightly smaller.

I was mainly interested in that motor for the possibility that it was even smaller than the Puller 400. I have no idea what I'd use it for, but I was considering buying one first and figuring out what to do with it later. But if it's not actually miniature-sized, I think I'll just wait for the TorqueMaster Pro Magnum 540 to come back in stock. That motor is a standard size and I will be able to use different armatures in it someday in the future when I can't get authentic Holmes Hobbies armatures anymore. Yes, I really do plan that far ahead.

Dx6e for a crawler with rear steer? Will it work right I’m not finding a lot of info on it for ground use.

I recently bought the 1080 hobby wing esc dor my crawler not realizing that I needed a dual motor esc. My crawler is motor on axle with four wheel steer. Would there be a way to use the 1080 esc with dual moter and servos?
Note. I'm new to the forum thing, any tips on how to navigate and use this site would be helpful too.

Lil tugger is the same size as a Puller 400.

Homes will be making a stubby magnum eventually though.

I recomend running 2 hobbywing 1080 esc's
One for each axle. Depending on your setup you can just hook up both motors to the 1080.

This highly depends on your amp draw which is determined by your gearing, voltage, weight, motor turns and winding quality. If the esc gets hot it will burn up.

Recently purchased Castle SW4 and 1800 Revolver for my Enduro w/ stock 87 spur 18 pinion on 3s. I've been able to smoothen the start up but having trouble with this ... @ 0:16 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXcdECigX2k&feature=youtu.be played with curve, punch, torque limit, start up, timing. Even tried a different rx/tx but is still there.

Help please... any suggestions? TIA

Does your throttle curve have a "non smooth" ramp up somewhere near the middle? Can you print and post your curve?

Here is a pic of the current curve. I've tried several from linear and curve but it still happens. Depending on the curve it's set at, the "jump" is there but in a different position on the throttle. Also happens in No curve.

I even swapped out the tx/rx to rule that out.

No doubt that is a smooth curve for sure, sine the jump moves around in the trigger pull depending on cuve maybe it has something to do with either RPM or a RPM based adjustment. I just ran demo mode on SW4, try putting your punch control at 100% and see if it goes away??

That is already with 100% punch control. Torque limit is currently at 1.8. I have also tried lowest .2 but it still happens.

Set start at High, set punch at 30% with a flatter curve. That’s how JRH sets it in his video, always works.

I am assuming the SW4 has the latest update ?

Hang up and Drive

That's how it was initially set... per JRH video. The Jump was more evident so i had to mess with Punch control to 100% and torque limit to 1.8 "soften" it.

Beta? Yes. I also used the older FW to see...

My buddy came over and he had me use his micro x. Difference was night and day. His was smooth throughout though the SW4 had a slightly smoother start up but no "jump".

Oh ant the lil tugger is also hand wound.

I have one question, why aren't we getting these amazing videos here on RCCrawler?? :lmao:
https://www.facebook.com/HolmesHobb...07645/?__so__=permalink&__rv__=related_videos

So is this motor okay for most light "go fasts"?

Also if we order one can we get a sticker with that lil' tugger logo? that would be awesome!

it's not really for go fasts, maybe a go medium

Howdy - Building an Enduro kit, but I swapped in vanquish portal axles and don't know what ESC/Motor combo to run for a class 2 crawler. What say you? :)

More info:
I had the portals on my older truck that this is replacing with a 27T brushed and the gear down took my wheel speed away. I just got the axles and only ran one time with them before I called no joy on that setup. I'm very new to this hobby, so I'm not sure exactly what to do to fix it. I've heard pinions and bigger motors and I'm sure they all will work, but want to get the "proper" solution in place for the brand new build.

You can safely pinion up to get your wheelspeed back

JOHN, whats the situation with the bare phase wires on the PP 540-L 4100kV motor? Why did you decide to not terminate them in solder tabs on the can? Can they be trimmed or are they coated all the way into the can from the 75mm end point? Could this motor be ordered with longer phase wires so that it can be directly plugged into an ESC without having to make extensions? Thank you, Ed

They are made that way to get minimal chance of heat causing an internal short or desoldering. Phase wires pull straight out of the stator. If you email I'm sure we could add more wirelength and bullets if your option you want isn't listed.

got a HH stubby 2700k!

can i run a mamba micro or need to jump up to mamba x?

rig weight is around 6.3-6.5 pounds!

Depends on gearing. If it is a two speed rig, don't do it. single speed, should be just fine.

I would also like to know more about the "Lil Tugger", specifically how it differs from the Puller 400. It looks identical, so I assume there are differences on the inside, or else the specs were copied from the Puller 400 and haven't been updated yet.

Its basically a puller 400 with a straight arm. Not as smooth starting (although not bad either), but plenty of grunt. It's a cheaper way to try a 400.

Just solder on a Y splitter.

looked like you got it sorted on FB?

Might be something wrong, that's nowhere near normal operation and you have done everything that would normally fix it. I would recommend rolling firmware back and forwards once more, and contact castle if that doesnt solve it. Might be an issue when its changing over from the external low voltage comparators to the internal HV comparstors.

I've emailed Castle Thursday last week and still waiting for a reply.

Thanks JRH and the rest who took time to try and help solve this issue.
