Have tech questions? Will answer.

The first thing I would do is make sure the ESC is in brushless mode. Then I would check to make sure that the three power wires are correctly attached and in the proper positions. Finally I would remove the sensor cable and try again with it off.

I have a cheap garbo 2 pole 3000kv sensored chinesium motor that is rated for 3s. For whatever reason I cannot get it to run in sensored mode with my Mamba X, it just vibrates angrily, I've tried all combinations with the ABC wires to no avail. I've also tried 2 different sensor cables. So I have two questions.

1. Any idea how I could make it work?

2. If I can't make it work, I don't want it so I'm gonna give it a violent fairwell on 6s. What happens when you overvolt a brushless motor? (sensorless obviously)

Guys,
I have solved the issue with the help of this forum. Thank you for the valueable information. I had programmed the ESC incorrectly like a dope. I assumed it was something else when the answer was right in front of me. SMH

You're not the first, nor the last, to miss something like that. Easy mistake to make and, luckily, easy to rectify. How is the Tekin working out for you?

Nothing as spectacular as launching it from a potato gun.

My friend has a Gmade GOM with a Hobbywing AXE 2300kv motor in it. It seems to have plenty of power for the application. I may pick a GOM up as well. I have a new Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro V2 Stubby 2200kv that I’m going to use in something. Is it safe to assume that the Stubby has as much if not more power than the AXE 2300 motor and would be fine in a GOM. I know there are other motor options, but I have this brand new stubby and would love to use it for this. Thanks!

The stubby probably has about the same power as the axe 2300. But the stubby won't hold its speed as well at low rpms like the axe system.

Is the Mamba micro x and the 1406 slate 2280kv a good setup for the axial capra? I want to make sure before I purchase. It will be my first brushless.

I'm working on a slash drag project. Not for comp, just to run with 3 of my buddies. We recently found that the 2nd gen xl5(waterproof blue case big heatsink) runs 4s batteries in stock form. We all have these laying around, and all have 4s packs and 2wd slashes. I took 10 full 30mph passes geared 52/20 with the Titan 21t pulling 4s through the xl5. Motor was warm esc was ambient. I have 2 questions.
Should I run an external Bec w the xl5 on 4s? I'm worried I'll burn the bec as it's only rated by Traxxas for 2s.
And any suggestions on a brushed 4s 550 motor that would be quicker than the Titan 21t?

I know we're silly doing brushed drag racing but we March to a different drum haha

Just go brushless. Brushed won't give you enough speed.

No... We're gonna do it with brushed motors thanks

Speed is relative, we don't want to wreck our sexy muscle cars. So A more powerful brushed motor will have to suffice.

I would suggest a BEC.

12t 550, like the titan or trailmaster. You will have to be careful on 4s with gearing, but they will take them for limited times.

My question is in reference to the proper power supply output voltage setting. I have a Muchmore Power Master 24amp supply and a Protek Prodigy 610 charger. The power supply has adjustable output voltage from 11-18v and my charger is capable of input voltage from 11-18v so the question is what voltage should I set my power supply to? Thx

Anywhere in the appropriate range would work. I might suggest 12-14 volts as that's somewhat of a standard voltage.

As long as the supply meets the demand you're golden.

Hi there folks,

I was considering running a BR - mini in my Capra - HH16t Crawlmaster Pro 9-11t pinion and servos on a BEC on 3S. I currently run an FXR but the drag brake is not enough.

A friend of mine ran a 400 puller 16t with 9t pinion , servos on BEC, 3S and he experienced overheating of the ESC. Put it down to the high gearing in the Capra tranny....

Anyone else tried this and had success or what is the pro master Johns verdict here - should it work??

I should mention he was running the TGH wild gear set, I will be trying that set and the mild to see what suits me...

Thanks all...

Hi John, this is not specifically a tech question, but I wondered if you had an estimate of when the SHV500V3 servo would be in stock? Really like the idea of connecting it directly to the battery and not needing a BEC. Thanks!

Will the Mamba micro crawler be good in the capra with a 2280kv slate?
