Has anyone tried to buy some lately?

All the LHS'es near me are out of stock. The main LHS I go to said next shipment from Horizon will be December 4th! He has something called O-Ring Grease from Ruddog. It's a red color thick grease in a syringe style applicator. He suggested using that instead but he himself has never used so he doesn't know if it works (he personally uses green slime - LOL!).

I checked HH and Tower and both also say December 4th. Amain somehow says end of September. I have a feeling that will change soon.

Amazon has nothing. eBay has only three sellers. I think all three are from Australia.

Might as well get a tub from Noleen but I think they charge $10 shipping and I don't need that much.

Time to search the threads for alternatives that doesn't cost an arm and a leg... :)

(Or if someone can recommend an alternative that they have tried and worked.)

You can try Avid RC. I have used their shock slop for a couple of years now. The price is right and it doesn’t come in that dumb tube. I just dip the rings in the jar. It is about the thickness as as Green Slime. While you are also pick up some bearings or some other parts. They have a nice selection of items. Most are geared towards the racing community but still can find some stuff.
Another choice is VRP RC. Again geared towards the racing community but they have a jar of shock grease. I have used this one as well. It’s slightly thicker but definitely more sticky than Green Slime. Also if you are looking for some gear grease try their “honey grease”. It is really thick but stays in place.
I have used both products with great success. I personally like the Avid Shock Slop the best.

Over rated and worthless for anything other than lubing the o rings or x rings for initial assembly. I just dip the shafts in whatever shock oil I'm going to be using and install them.

Carpetfuzz, thanks for the leads. I know the owner of Avid, back in the days when we hung out on the Starting Grid forum. I didn't even know he would have grease since back then he was just a bearings guy. :) Thanks also for mentioning VRP. Apparently Amain has it (and in stock!) and I'm going to place an order soon so I might just throw that in to get me going. I'll get the Avid stuff the next time get get bearings but it's good to know there's alternate stuff and sources.

W-T, I often have thought about that but half the people swear by it and the other half says not needed. I think I'll err on the side of caution only because I'm too damn lazy to redo the shocks again. There's never enough time in the day for hobby stuff! LOL!

No substitute for Molykote 111 really. It's what most of the powersports companies use to lube orings.
Plus it's food safe which is an added benefit in case worried about chemicals.

I use the Noleen also. Got the lifetime jar for 9 bucks off eBay directly from Noleen.

The main review for the green slime on Amain is what pushed me towards it.

Ditto! Found the lifetime supply on Ebay and sent directly from Noleen!

Another thing I like about the jar of Noleen is that it has an easy access lid. The little tubes of Green Slime are hard to get all of the slime out when the tube starts to get empty.
