I'm in the market for a durable quality camera to mount to both mine and my sons rigs. The GoPro Hero was recently put on sale pretty much everywhere and I can get the bundle Kit for like 160. The GoPro Hero2 is a but more expensive, about 250+ depending where I get it. Is there that much difference between the two justifying the 100 dollar price difference. Thanks for the help.

Im not looking for professional video, just good quality filming ability attached to my RC rigs. The waterproof feature is a huge plus. Also looking for something really durable since Im very hard on the gear i use.

Things I've noticed is the hero 2 comes with way more crap than it needs.

Is this a good thing or is it useless crap. Just curious if the price is worth it or would i be happy with the the regular GoPro Hero HD. Thanks for any help and advice.

I have the first one bc they were out of the 2. I will buy the 2 down the road bc the quality of the picture is noticeable.
But the gopro is already so good compared to anything I had. So I was happy.

I've got them both. Hero 2 is worth the money. Battery pack, add ons available, better frame rate, better low light, better bright light, better menu, better everything.

Unless you just really dont care. In that case buy a used hero for half the cost.

I had the original gopro it does great pictures of the sky, shakes, and jiggles until your ready to hurl. Do yourself a favor and mount whichever you pick to YOUR HAT so you can see the vehicle. Nothing ruins a vid faster than an seizure.

You liking that pair of 2's? :)

So as for an update....
I ended up getting a GoPro Hero HD. Got it for 120 with 16 gig sdhc card and Waterproof case. It looks like RPP. Has a great price but the extra 100 can go to parts for the rigs.

Thanks for the help and advice it was appreciated.
