Gamestop rant!

did you ever think that the price you were quoted changed after you hung up... lets think about it, the price is going down on the "newer" units why wouldnt they drop the trade in.

Go get your $50, wait for the price to drop Friday and get your used unit. And stop your bitching about getting money for a broken system. Put it on ebay and see how much you get.
 
Well. I took the $50. and their IS NO SALE coming FRIDAY!!! so its going to be 119. NO INSIDER information, Just some RETAIL guy talking shit!

So everybody here is agreeing that if a Corporation or Bussiness offers you $2000 for a PUSH PULL OR DRAG POS vehical into a lot twards either a NEW OR USED CAR, They say, no, well give ya $400 for it. and EHHH If ya wait a couple of days, well offer you EVEN LESS for your car and the car you might want MAYBE go on sale in a couple of days....?

OHHH THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT DEAL THERE HUH?

you dont realize what your sticking up for. WHY? BECAUSE this can and WILL HAPPEN TO YOU! Thats the power of corporations screwing you. But go ahead and do bussiness with these people and keep them in business....


AND the only reason why I took the shitty deal and delt with it is because I promised my son that I would come home with a 360.

Your missing the point. If a business "offers" you a deal or has an advertised special that ENDS on day X and you go in a day or two later, you are expecting them to honor said "deal" even though you didn't get there till after it ended?

Did the inform you the "quote" could change in a day or so, or end at close of business on Sunday, probably not. But, did you ask?

As for "sticking up" for The Man, businesses have guidelines, policies, sales, rules, etc. This is not some mom and pop company, nor is it a swap meet. They don't make shit up based on customer attitude or to "screw you". People have the "Wal-Mart" mentality that if they bitch and complain long and loud enough they will get what they want.

Funny You mention this point.

I asked the guy, "If the used 360's go on sale with in 30 days, am I able to come in and get a return differance" he said YES!

most places will do this, If you buy something at full price and the next week or so, or the warranty is up, You can go in and get the differance either in store credit or cash.

That has nothing to do with the trade in value though. The cheaper they sale used unites, the lower the trade value. Also, those types of offers, generally apply to new items, not used. Now on a used one, you could return it in less than 30 days, with your receipt, as defective and purchase one at the lower price.
 
I have a guy who fixes the red ring of death for $20. Its really a easy fix I guess if a person knows what they are doing.
 
After all of the shit you are going through I would stay clear of used shit. Especially electronics. Though i thought they did have a warranty on the used for a few days - weeks? Good luck!

X2, you will be buying some other poor sucker's like you's broken Xbox that they sold for $50 and they are flipping them around and making double their money, i'll never buy a used electronic, especialy a 360 considering how easy they are to "fix" "thumbsup"

i'd use that money for games, and go buy a brand new one, grab a brain and maybe consider the extendedd service plan.
 
A quote over the phone is not legally binding, its an 'offer to treat.'

Just the same as a price tag is an offer to treat, it can't be relied on. It can be wrong, misprinted whatever, offer a retraction and your on your own.

Take what you can get 30, 50, 60 and get a PS3.

Yeah dont buy used shit... guess what, WHEN THEY WERE NEW THEY HAD THE PROBLEMS!

And yeah there is 30 day warranty on it. and for $20 they offer a 1 year warranty.
 
Yeah, me personally, I bought a used xbox w/ 2 games from gamestop, over 200 bucks. Xbox didn't even turn on. Got the exchange, e75, thought one more exchange. Disc tray was off it's track. Got my money back, bought my xbox off eBay, 3 games, 20gig harddrive, wireless controller, 175!
Going on 6 months without a problem.
When I got it all I did was remove the case, open her up, and cleaned the dust out.

Now I go to gamestop just to buy the older games w/o a case for 2-5 bucks. There used prices for decent games are a joke, the closest one to me has pricks working at it. The same guy was working when exchanging the system and kept making smart ass remarks, you shouldn't be cheap, etc.

Just eBay it and eny up for overnight shipping
 
Now this is great:

Ok, so my son wanted some Wii games for christmas this year, so me and the GF went to game stop yesterday and checked out the used section of games.

I noticed out the corner of my eye that they had a sign saying Xbox 360's are at a new low price of $99 + a 1 year replacement warrenty!

Me only buying my 360 less than 2 weeks ago asked the sales clerk if I brought my xbox back could I get my money back and then re buy it for the lower price.. He said yes since I only had a 30 day warrenty and was still coverd. So all i had to do is bring my recipt to them and they gave me the $120 back then i repurchased the new one at $99 and got a FREE 1 year replacement (which stated eairlier in the thread was $20 extra).

So i got the free 1 year replacement and $20 back then bought my son a Nerf N-Strike controller and Game for $20....

So everything worked out in the end. and got my son a free xmas gift in the proccess!!"thumbsup":mrgreen:
 
Gamestop sucks. Never find anything I want on the rare occasion that I venture into one.

As for the red ring of death.....My cousin is a die-hard xbox fanboy. Think he is on his 3 or 4th one.
Bought my PS3 about a month after they were released and after years of gaming, movies, and netflix streaming for 5 or 6 hours a day it is still going strong.
