Ok, I usually don't go to this store but this time I thought I was gona get a good deal.
Ok my Xbox 360 went to crap, E73 Error code. So on Sunday I called Gamestop and asked them how much would my 360 be worth as Instore Credit twards a referbished 360 (price $119). The guy over the phone told me $60 CREDIT even with the E73 Code, He even put me on hold to double check the price due to the code. I said ok sounds good I will try to make it in there in the next couple of days, So TODAY monday I went there after work and took the 360 in. I told the guy that was working there about the $60 quote over the phone, and he said wow that sounds great, and offers me $50 store credit...? He said well theres nothing I can do. thats what it says to offer.
He offers me $50 as store credit and tells me I can put it on a card. and also continues to tell me to wait untill Friday, because he ASSUMES that the used 360's will go on sale again for $99??? Pissed off by this point. I told him Im gona take my broken one and decide what I'm gona do.
So I get home. and CALL another gamestop (less than a mile away, In the mall) They proceed to tell me that they would offer me $35-40. after he tells me that they DO NOT accecpt Defective or Red Ringed 360's, but then told me the price after he checked into it more. He also says that trade in prices could change, and come FRIDAY I could be offered even less for my 360.
so WTF?
I continued to ask the guy at the store to please give me the name of his District Manager and phone number. He refused to do so and tells me that there is nothing more hes gona be able to do. I said well he would have something to do with Customer Service wouldnt he? YEAH. I guess he would the guy said. Then continues to tell me I do not have to shop with game stop if its such a problem....
ALL this and I just bought a Wii last weekend from Gamestop for $99.
I then got off the phone and called HEADQUARTERS Customer Service and they gave me the NAME AND NUMBER To the district Manager. Gave Him a call and got a VOICE MAIL! left a message and hopefully he calls me back tomarrow, because I'm going in tomarrow again after work to get things straighent out.
What do you guys think?
