Hey guys, newish member to RCC. I'm doing a couple of upgrades to my truck before a big comp in December. I figured I'd start a thread for my upgrades so far, and whats going on my truck next. I'm in the process of designing and machining out my own chassis in house, but in the mean time I decided to see how far I can take the stock scx10 rails, seeing as I don't see many people still running them besides the scaler guys and newbies. This should be a fun experience, and I partially started it to pass time during the hurricane about to hit South FL.

Okay, for starts I'm gonna go over a simple performance oriented parts list already on the truck.
-Beef tubes front/rear
-The Scale Shop Drum Brakes
-Axial HD transmission gears
-Axial Over/under drive gears
-Lockedup FI spools
-Aluminum c's/knuckles/lockouts, mix of Lockedup,SSD, and vanquish
-VVD's
-Traxxas Bigbores with Dlux bits
-SSS Trail Beadlocks (i think)
-Voodoo KLR 1.9 Silver, 2.5 lil nova soft/med

Electronics:
Axial AE2/Castle BEC running on 3s.
Team Brood Ravage 45t
Savox 1268 at 7.4 for steering
Savox 1257TG winch.

Here's how my truck sat as of yesterday.

My electronics were a mess, but hey, it worked and I had no problems

As you can see, I tried to optimize the stock rails as best as I could. Currently I'm not running a bumper, but plan on making a low profile one for my truck to be SORRCA legal.

I will update this thread periodically with my progress, and thanks for checking it out!

So I began the tear down and man my truck looks sad.

Quick overview of my electronics again, I have a decased AE2, and a decased castle BEC. I Had originally planned on shrink wrapping them together, but couldn't find any big enough to squeeze both into, so I went with what I had and it works I guess.

Heres the brood motor. It's an amazing choice for around $40, has loads of torque and temps are low. I had a 13t crawlmaster sport in here before and couldn't get a running temp below 130 no matter what I tried, I'm gonna try it out on another truck.

I decided to throw in a picture of my servo winch mount. Its just a piece of aluminum I cut out/drilled that fits parallel to my SSD CMS setup. I was lucky that the included cross member of my CMS mount more or less creates a flat base to mount the aluminum piece to, as for the front of the mount, I'm using a piece of fuel tubing to fill in the space the c-channel design of the rails create. There's a little give in my mount (flexes about 1-2mm) but I prefer that over cranking it down onto the chassis and bending something.

As I was typing this, the mailman came with some presents. Here are some of the parts im throwing on in the meantime. I have some other stuff left to order, but that'll have to wait. Quick sidenote, I'm still running the stock WB8 HD drive shafts when I first got my truck (used to be a deadbolt), and have had great luck, in the parts picture below theres a new set I scored for $20 on ebay, my main upgrade coming soon involves a third driveshaft.

Overdue update, added a Toyzuki motor mount, and moved my electronics around.

I actually ended up scrapping the stock rails idea, and ordered a full Toyzuki kit. Will post another update when it arrives.
