Father/Son TRX4 Sport Kit Build

Went to a DS3235 servo and picked up a Hobbywing 1080. Very impressed with the difference in esc performance. I mainly got it for the 7.4 BEC but the overall performance vs the 1060 is significantly improved. Smoother start, drag brake, throttle resolution, & less noise. The 1060 had the pwm whine and the 1080 is silent with the PWM set higher (I understand this can lead to higher esc temp but didn’t notice anything running it yesterday).

The Duplicolor custom wrap paint (like plastidip) has been holding up great on the Sport plastic wheels.

Got the Pro-Line Krawler G8 1.9s mounted up yesterday. I can see why a lot of guys go to dual stage foams, they’ve got a lot of squish...but I don’t think it will be a concern for us.

Looks great! Just FYI, the stock Traxxas Canyon Trail tires are actually considered to be a very good tire once you trim off the small center lug.

Welcome to the gang. The trx4 is great truck. Love mine and still upgrading it. I dont have a clicking sound in my truck, its been really good to me. The truck builds looking great, keep it up.

Thanks guys! We are having a blast with it around the house. The Canyon Trails have been very good (as I’ve read on the forums) so I haven’t felt the need to cut them. I picked up the Boggers with the thought of more mud/wet conditions and the Krawlers for the increased crawling capability... plus the cool scale look!

Just running the wood pile out back, the difference the 1080 makes is kind of surprising in both tractability and control vs the 1060. . I’m very glad I upgraded!
