In June of this year my wife lost her father to Lewy Body Dimensia, it was extremely difficult last six months of his life. Now her Uncle is in the hospital in Spokane Washington with stage four cancer in his jaw bone, the docs removed half of his jaw and replaced it with bone they took from his leg. He has a tracheotomy so he can breathe that needs to be drained every 20-30 minutes, the nurses at the hospital showed his girlfriend how to do it because they are too scared to do it(fawking ridiculous if you ask me).:evil:

His name is Dennis Gilbert, he lost his only son Rusty who was a Marine in Afghanistan. Rusty was training Afgan soldiers and somehow was accidentally shot point blank in the head.

A few days ago Dennis' girlfriend who hasn't left his side since he has been in the hospital received a call informing her that a tree fell right through their house in the storm that hit the Northwest recently. Their homeowners insurance expired because of the hospital bills and now they are basically homeless once Dennis is released from the hospital. The local news broadcasted a short story about them and their situation.

A "Go fund me" account has been set up in his name while he is still in the hospital recovering from surgery. Needless to say it has been a rough year for our family, if you could please help in any way it is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time reading this, below is a link to his Go Fund Me account.

Over 100 views and nothing:shock:, maybe I need to buy some cool parts and do a raffle.
Please guys, anything helps, I know I've donated before in similar threads, hoping that karma comes back around.

There's a link to the news story at the bottom of his G.F.M. page.

WOW! Thank you guys soooo much!"thumbsup"

I'm not sure who donated $100:shock:, but I owe you big time, was that you Natedog?

Mr. CREEPERBOB, thank you very much, shoot me a PM if you need anything!"thumbsup"

I honestly was thinking that $5 or $10 would be donated here and there, my head is spinning right now, thank you fellas, much appreciated!"thumbsup"

Update: Dennis was released yesterday from the hospital and he and his girlfriend returned to their home. A local G.C. was kind enough to patch up some of the damage and toss a tarp on the roof free of charge. They are basically living in one bedroom with access to a bathroom. PG&E finally turned the power back on so at least he has heat in the bedroom. He still has a long way to go with his recovery and is very thankful for the help.

A BIG THANK YOU to those who have donated, it is very much appreciated!

Travis, you're welcome! My wife went through similar ordeal about 20 years ago. Her's was not into the bone yet, but it was fast moving squamous cell carcinoma, the surgery was very invasive. She lost part of her tongue, under the tongue and into cheek and back of mouth. Surgery went well, only a couple nurses at hospital were good (the couple in particular were very good and nice). Radiation treatment went well but was very painful for her, thankfully she has made full recovery, but her temporary loss of saliva (due to radiation treatment and sometimes permanent loss) caused her to lose many of her good teeth due to cavities. Saliva moistens the mouth and protects against bacteria and cavities. Radiation is very hard on the body, but increased her chances of non-recurrence and it has aged her skin and face prematurely. She is however grateful that she has survived to enjoy many years of mostly happiness, life is a constant struggle in many ways, we either carry on as best we can or don't. We both are thankful that we are walking, talking and in relatively good health.

To everybody who reads this and thinks about it, if everybody on this BB gave just $5, it would more than cover the amount Travis c. has requested...I know that I can easily spend $5 on a couple cups of coffee or more than that on just one mocha at Peet's Coffee. If you can spare a few dollars I'm sure that Travis and his family would be very greatful. Happy Thanksgiving to all! :)

Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself! That's kind of what I had in mind when starting this thread, never imagined so few giving so much.

Sorry to hear about your wife, glad she's better now and enjoying life!"thumbsup"

Edit: Big thank you to Mr. Del Monte, your donation is greatly appreciated, I know where I'm going for my next set of comp wheels!"thumbsup"

A big thank you to all who have donated, it is greatly appreciated!"thumbsup"

Is the RCC community really going to let facebook generate more in donations?

Thank you very much FRENCHBLUE72, it's not about how much someone donates, anything is needed and greatly appreciated."thumbsup"
