Anyone plan on trying this chassis out?

The Yeti should have come with an aluminum chassis like this or the Baja Rey. It's a great piece and Exotek makes top notch stuff, but it's not cheap.

At first glance, I thought it came with the trailing arms and rear upper links. Upon further investigation it doesn't. Would've been nice if it did though.

I'd love to try it out. Who's buying it for me?

LOL! :ror: My knee jerk reaction was “ gotta get that” but I’m totally happy with my finished project "thumbsup". Hmmm...another project?
Had I known about it 6 months ago I would have gone that route.
It will be interesting to see if anyone has this and how it works out.

I don't have plans to get this as of yet... but I did just pick up a Yeti Score TT Kit from Tower.

It looks really, really nice, but since it is 12 mm narrower a 2-speed transmission won't fit. Otherwise I might have bought it.

I’m going to be forced to buy one of these. I run Exotek parts on 2 other rc’s and the quality is amazing.

Exotek please come out with more stuff for the yeti!

just saw this on the squid. pretty cool! and might be another (expensive) reason for me to be motivated enough to convert mine to TT...

but i already have the rock racer. i have been considering converting it to TT (and keeping the RR parts to swap back if i want).

also just noticed this kit leaves the receiver wide open, up on top of the ESC. add a water"proof" RX to the list with this kit unless you live in a world without water.

I already have the Rock Racer as well, but couldn't resist picking up the TT.

A receiver box from a Traxxas Slash (and probably a bunch of other models) is cheap ($5-$10), readily available, and reasonably water resistant (much more so than the stock Yeti rx box anyway.) This chassis isn't cheap by any means, but the Yeti has been known to be a money pit anyway... what's another $150? My good buddy has the Exotek chassis on his radar for his TT kit, but it will have to wait until after the holidays.

very good point. i was literally on the fence about either selling my yeti entirely, or going TT. this helped sway me just enough to keep it and maybe... maaaaybe get this chassis upgrade to rebuild as a TT.

It’s not that hard to convert a rr to a tt. It’s really only body mounts, front bumper, and wheels and tires. There is also the rear tt cage for the body but that’s not needed if you don’t want it, I went with the proline raptor body and it said I didn’t have to cut it off.

Yes the Exotek chassis is expensive, actually all of their chassis are. I run their chassis on a wr8 flux, I know it’s not a crawler by any means, but it made a HUGE difference with how it handled. I also run their drive shaft on a hpi sport 3 flux, which I was going to sell after the second pack because it was really slow, then after the upgrade it was very fast! Exotek is kind of link vanquish, yes the parts can get expensive but they are very durable

I placed an order for the chassis, I’ll post pics once it gets here. I do still need to get all of the electronics though.

I was kinda planning on trying one of these out. Along with going back to an SSD wide rear axle from a Metalconcepts RC TT10 HD axle (the axle itself is bulletproof but so heavy it breaks rod ends like crazy).

I'll have to put that on the back burner for now as I impulse ordered a TRX-4 this weekend

Look forward to hearing about how this chassis performs. I'm a little skeptical about the bolt on front end and wished they'd have fixed the space between the A arms where the hinge pins bend on the stock chassis. (Maybe that won't be an issue on this chassis?)

Why oh why did you have to post this? I thought my Yeti was finished but now....
