Driveshaft Pinion Gear Output Compatibility

Another noob questioon:
Looking at a few driveshaft options for my LCG build- MIP, super shafty, treal, cheap-o amazon, etc...I'll measure the length I need once I have everything bolted in place, but I see some aftermarket driveshafts that seem brand specific. My TRX4 axles use a step down setscrew pin to secure the driveshafts to the diff pinion outdrive. Does Axial do the same? Is this where compatibility issues come into play? Are all driveshafts pretty much interchangeable with exception to length. Thanks in advance.

The screw pin typically does not determine compatibility, most use a 3mm (or is it 2.5mm) hole for the pin side and then the threads are where it may vary from M2.5-M3-M4 threads. its just a matter of getting the right screw pin which is typically included. and of course the overall length. I think Gmade does however use a smaller pin hole 2mm maybe(?).
Most all driveshafts are made for a 5mm output shaft (from the transfer case) and a screw pin except those made for the Vaterra Ascender though you may not even find those.

For a LCG build I used Axial Wild boar HD shafts, they're plenty strong light and can be configured to many different lengths by cutting them down or swapping the parts around.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to look into those wild boar shafts.

I definitely recommend the wb8-hd’s the driveshafts that comes with the new vanquish Phoenix are legit too. I bought a set of trx4 shafts for a build with an axial trans and the output on the transmission is slightly too long causing binding. Good thing they were only $13 because I don’t feel like grinding on the output.
