Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs

I really like this idea. I might be needing a wider stance for a build I'm doing. Do you think this would be better/stronger than the rc4wd wideners? I would think so, but I haven't used either. Thanks for the how to!
I think this mod would be stronger and give you more option"thumbsup"

How do the numbers that represent the hubs transfer to width? What I mean is; if a hub is a 225, then is it actually 1/4 inch wide?
thanks!

Also, does anyone know if the VP hubs wil bolt up to the OEM steel wheels?

This is rough 225=1\4
350=3\8
475=1\2
600=5\8

This is too cool, great idea"thumbsup"
This will come in handy, when I build another toyota:ror:
thanks

you have any pics of the back of the rim after drilling? looks like to me that the holes would be half on the flat side and half down the edge of the wheel. seems like it would split the wheel.

Great writeup Mr V. "thumbsup"

I know I was one of the ones who asked you about them. Thanks for posting this up. This mod adds realism and function!

This been another awesome mod! Thank you MR. V. "thumbsup"

hey thanks for the pics. i was looking at my stock 2.2 axial beadlocks and with my vp hubs it looked like i would have to drill half in and half out of the flat spot by the hex. i guess that's whats gotta be done. now time to go find somebody with a drill press i can use!

I feel like trying this because I don't like the look of most steelies, but this mod looks great, and I like the wheel design anyway

I have 2.2 proline 8 shooters and one hexs is starting to wear and I remembered this thread.
You think this would work as the back face isnt flat. I checked out my axial 8 holes and the back side looks the same.
