I wasn't really sure where to put this but I'm wondering what places do custom machined rc wheels? I'm wanting to have a set made for a touring car. I know it would probably cost alot but thats what I'm trying to find out. I guess the design would be somewhat complicated but I would love to have it done.

Look in the vendor section for a wheel maker. I'm pretty sure any one of them would do it for the right price. ;-)

Yea I know I'm probably off in lala land about this....lol. I just think it would be badass to have a set made with the rear being wider with a nice lip on them.

I've actually been looking thru all the wheels and come up with a few I like. If all else fails I may end up going with a BBS style set like the ones posted above.

I'm gonna pm some people and ask about it so until then I can keep dreaming about it.. "thumbsup"

For a one off design that complex, $100+ for each wheel would be closer.

Yea if it were to be something like that I would have to stick with the plastic.....lol. The real set is about $3000 for 18x9s.

I'm gonna see what I can come up with tho. You play you pay.

I don't have a CNC, YET!, but this was my plan..
Most machine shops charge design time and machine time.

Design time you can count on $30 - $50 per hour.
Program and machine time is about double that, plus the cost of material needed for the run.

And, your time starts as soon as the machine is touched, so set up time and tear down time is included in the cost..

My estimates, for 2.2" - NON Beadlock Wheels - $150 to $175 a pair, plus material costs..
Totally cuustom beadlocks - 2.2" were going to be right around $200 a pair..

I know, they aren't cheap..
My goal was to come up with a modular design that could the same outer ring with different faces.
I would have someone mass produce the outer 2.2" and 1.9" rings and I would make the custom center faces, which could be machined with the outers to make a very nice wheel..

Have the basic drawings, just need to get a shop and the mill...

Well I've sent pm's to a few wheel vendors on here. If it isn't too crazy I'll have them done if possible.

I'm not worried about the gold on the wheels, I would polish them up with a dremel tool. I know there is alot of detail to them but if it was just a straight thru cut with no taper that would be fine but maybe the very center a little deeper to show that detail.
