Crawl Spec Super - Bully Style

I used my clod axles to get this chassis to the final version shown here. For the Bullies I had to change only the upper link mount location.

I need to get an overhead shot of the steering, because it is awesome to have decent steering on a Super. The best part is the tires do not rub the links.

The Goods:

65:1 Bully Axles
Crawl-Spec Retrac Chassis
Holmes Hobbies Motors (55t for now, may change after test run)
Holmes Hobbies BR-XL ESC's
MaxAmps 1550HV 3s lipo
JR 8711 servos - plan to change to Hitec 7980's when they come out.
Revo Shocks
XTM Thorns with Panther Plowboys
Nomadio React

Wheel weight system and steering setup to come.

The retrac is awesome in person. I just hope next time i get to see it on the rocks.

Thanks Thomas! I will definitely have it running the next time we go.

I need to get some longer screws, but here's the idea anyways...

Sven, everything looks great! Cool idea on the wheel weights! I've got a few sitting around and might give that a shot.

Thanks Jeremy!"thumbsup"

Got a start on the steering mounts. The front axle will be getting an over the axle/bta link. The link shown is for the rear.

Looking good Sven"thumbsup"

Thanks Joe! "thumbsup"

First front steering proto is done. There are some things I need to change to stiffen it up a bit.

Nice work on that steering setup! This thing is really starting to come together. "thumbsup"

Hey Sven is that 9100T servo strong enough if you get in a bind ?

I got one on my 2.2 and I wish I had more torque at times.

Probably not, but it is just for mock up. I have another JR 8711 around here somewhere that will go in there. I have been using the 8711's since my Hitec 5995's gave up the ghost and are now discontinued (I beat on the 5995's hard for about 3 years). Once the Hitec 7980 comes out, I plan to put those in there.

Looks great I like the weight system... I think you might need to use aluminum or steel for the steering link... I suspect the Delrin will get bendy in a bind especially when you get a 7980 in there...

I think you are right. What I think I am going to do is cut out a 1/8" thick aluminum plate to mount on top of the delrin. I don't have any way of cutting the 1/4 aluminum that I would like to use (within a reasonable time frame). But I think an aluminum reinforcement across the top will help stiffen it up a lot.
