colorado springs weekly comps/trail runs?

I know it's difficult for the group to understand "scale rigs" and the abilities it lacks in rock crawling but, I got into this hobby to have a "real" looking rig, that performs like a real rig..ie watching RC adventures on YouTube. Some may think its kinda dumb to have a scale rig or a waste of $$$, but when/if you decide to get into a scale rig prepare your wallet and driving skills cause it's nothing like crawling.

So on that note here's SOCO's only true scale rig......I got 15+hr in just the body work/painting/fabrication/chassis cutting blah blah blah....I learned a crap load tho so it was worth it.

The difference between rc crawler and scale crawler

Dave, I think most of us know where you are coming from and you're right on. Hands down, of all the rigs I've seen out there, yours is most detailed as far as scale goes. After all they are called 'scalers' not crawlers. I'm trying to find a happy medium ... coming from the comp rock crawler arena, I want my rig to be able to perform well in a reasonable real-life rock situation AND want it to look as scale as I can get (afford ... you were right on with the wallet comment) it to look. Because these are scalers and not crawlers, they handle much more like a real 1:1 rig would which means the driving skills are totally different than those used on driving a crawler ... which is why I love this hobby.

I understand everyone has an idea of what they "want" out of a rig and that's also why I love this hobby...I like seeing different setups and rigs doing work in different aspects. I don't wanna be like a scaler snob lol...it just makes for a good challenge. I'm not saying crawlers are boring or easy to drive...they are beasts of their own. I know how this group works and it shouldn't be that far off to have more scale rigs in the lineup....thus we'll have scaler runs or crawler runs. None the less I love the group we have and the rigs/drivers attending crawls...hands down the best crew in CO.

More scale goodness...less $$$ ugggh

Yeh david once I get some free time to actually get to my scale build ill definitely see wat ya mean but time is wat really kills me tho momey does sometimes as well

Like my truck, a trail rig that would see driving down the road to work in Colorado or other desert or mountain states and out on the trails doin work. Just takes $$$$

I talked to rob at vanquish about the 1.9 kmc xd series and he said they are in the workings but unsure of the time. So if maybe they get enough emails about it they may show up sooner. So then we can get some cool 1.9 wheels

I don't need 1.9 lol I need 2.2. I already got my Vanquish 1.9s. Should have asked him where the hell the rock stars that were supposed to be out before Christmas are. :)

Everyone email them haha, i want the KMC XD series in a 1.9 i like those more than the methods or the enduros

Lol yea the enduros are not that pleasing to the eye. I think you should just go 2.2. I like the way the 1.9 on a 2.2 looks.

They dont look bad looking at yours, but i dont think i would like the way it looks on my truck the way the sidewall would bulge out like that.

Watch the crap start flying off your rig with that much power. Your gonna have to bullet proof everything. Kevlar gears are not cheap.
