So, it's my first thread, hope I've choosen the right section...
A few months ago I decided to start a new project, I had in mind to build a class 3/ KoH buggy, but, since I had a (sort of) class 3 once, I chose to build a class 2  after this I started to looking for parts...

-Gmade R1 tranny
-Gmade axles (the narrow ones)
-custom carbon fiber chassis
-custom 3d printed F/R bumpers
-Stampede shafts
-Trackstar 17.5T/1879Kv motor
-100mm (almost four inches :p )F/R shocks
-2200 mAh 3s battery
-Robitronic Speedstar II crawler edition
-a very, very old servo (my first one... I bought it like seven years ago and it's still going :lmao: )
-Gmade beadlock rims
-Losi Mini Crwler's rims
-Sawback's body
-RC4WD's tires (rok lox or twoface,1.9" of course)
-rear lower links from Gmade R1 with 4mm uniballs

Let's start with some pics :D

aaaaand i'ts a roller!

twist (since I hadn't the battery yet, I had to use the box to add weight)

I then turned the tranny to have the motor on the left side of the chassis and mounted the body:

here you can see how I modified them:

I started with a very long wheelbase, too much maybe, so I decided to shorten it a bit.

Hello again! I didn't uploaded this thread since a veeeeery long time and yet so many things were modified and/or chenged on this rig! So let's begin our little tour, shall we?

First of all I tried to transform the front end of this car in an IFS type setup:

24dm248.jpg

And it looked absolutely gorgeous 8) unfortunately there were serious issues with the steering and the front shafts, so I had to discard this setup in favour of a much simplier solid axle. To be precise the main problem with the front shafts was their cost... In an IFS these things can't be cheap, I mean they're the main part of the front end after all.

So, after some time I had to change the body because I destroyed the original Sawback body and one thing leaded to another and I ended with a new motor/ESC combo and a new transmission  :lmao:
This body is totally temporary, I bought it from a local guy already painted and with a little bit of wear, but I don't actually care. Now, some more photos:

As you can see it's still a Jeep  I didn't like the decals of the front lights, so I cut them and glued a pair of lights from a Tamiya Blitzer Beetle

And now it's time to unveal my new powertrain, my new massive powertrain

2w7fjur.jpg

I'm not sure if you can see the motor, allow me to zoom in a bit...

2q0ohap.jpg

Now, that's better  :lmao:

It's a massive 270kV motor from alienpower systems, this one to be precise:

APS 5065FR-S Sensored Outrunner brushless motor 270KV 2000W

It's the sensored version but, unfortunately, the sensors on this motor don't work with a normal ESC, so I'm using it as a sensorless with this esc:

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/trackst...nsored-brushless-car-esc-pc-programmable.html

The original plan was to place it in the middle with no tranny at all and connect it directly to the axle, but without sensors there was too much cogging. So i designed a support on Autocad with a new skid for the batteries (yes, plural! 4s power baby  ) 3d printed it and mounted the motor on the front with an Ascender tranny in the middle used as a transfer box. Some more photos of this setup:

I also lowered the suspension using a rubber tube inside the shocks. I'm also using mini-t silver springs on the back and blue springs taken from a pair of RC4WD's shocks on the front.

It's easy to drive, with a ton of torque and the right amount of articulation on both axles. I still feel the need for the second gear tough, so I may add it later. Also I want to try it with 6s to see what kind of torque and speed I can squeeze out of this motor with 22.2 volts :twisted: I had to change tires too, this Roklox are too worn out and the compound isn't that great ( I think these were the first ones and they never had a lot of grip...), I'm thinking about the new Pitbull tires or the Proline All Terrain. We'll see!

Oh and speaking of tires, I had to see what it looked like with these!

Looks good man, what are those old 2.2 rims? I like those.

I haven't seen those wheels in ages, they normally are satin silver. I'm trying to remember who made them.... was it RPM? I believe so. I remember really liking them back in the day.

Thanks! I don't know where these rims come from, a friend of mine sold me a bunch of wheels and tires and these ones too. I agree, they look spectacular! Would be amazing under a '90s supercar bodyshell in 1:8 scale

Oh now we know  thank you!
