Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added!

Ya the sensor wire is definately working. When I unplug it it is jerky and make a lot of noise.
But nice and smooth when plugged in.

I will perform the motor test next and from there I will just deal with it I guess.

I see a rock 412 in the future:twisted:

So after trying everything possible I just don't think its enough motor, or I got a bad one.

As of now. Motor test is done torque set as high as it will go as per instructed. Wiring checked again. Binding possibilitys checked again. Gear mesh checked again after motor test. Sensor tried both ways. Tried numberous program variations. And the best I can get it is to run smooth all around and when I push against the wall it cogs but will climb it now.

I don't know anything about timing with them or running the cheat mode but it has been mentioned to leave them alone with using it to crawl with. Also anyone used the higher torque rotors for these?

Or money ahead going the rock 412 direction?

Just got a 3100kv ROC in my rig.....will I be ok with the stock 20/80 gearing on 3s?

Low speed seems to be very smooth and the WS is very zippy to say the least....Zoom zoom!

Just wondering about possible heat issues....ESC is a MMP.

Hi Harley!

Finally I am running my Crawlmaster Pro 13t with 88/13 on 3s.

One additional question, what temp should my motor reach under tough condition as max safe value?

Thanks a lot as usual!

I don't know an exact number to tell you, Holmes may be a better resource there.

As a rule I like to be able to put my finger on the motor for a few seconds before I feel like I need to pull it off.

Ok then I think I should be fine, so far temp never went so high that I couldn't hold my finger for a couple of secs! I'll be mailing John as well, I have temp gauge and I can easily measure motor's temp from the side or the back quite accurately. Thanks a lot.

Could I run a Pro4 3300 on the Tekin RS ESC? I'm currently running the Redline 13.5, but my brother is having issues with his CC 3800 and MMP, so I figured I would give him my 13.5... Thoughts?

Just for info John HH said safe temp approx 160F!

Thanks

I want to go brushless in my Wraith. Is this a god idea?
Castle Creations 1/10 SV3 Sidewinder 12V ESC Waterproof and
Castle Creations 1/10 1415 Series 2400kV Brushless (Sensorless).
I am going to run 32 pitch gears, but i dont know what gearing to run. Going to use it for mud, crawling and trail runs.
I believe that sensorless ESC's and motors would be more for bashing and the mud. But if you plan to do any real good crawling you'll want the control of a sensored setup.Plus with sensored you still get the bashing and mud speed.
