Chevy Crewcab Dually Build

New to this forum, and damn glad I clicked your thread. Read through all 21 pages of awesomeness and have to say this is the best scale rig I have seen and that work on the trailer is solid!

Sorry to see it get bashed, but I must say I like the cab better this time around.

I hope when I decide to crank into a custom rig one day that it comes out looking half as awesome as yours.

Subbed and drooling...

Thank you very much for the encouraging words! That's what makes it worth it in the end!

Good to see the truck revived. Love the trailer and your personal touches on it. Working on building my scx 10 as a scaler of my 1:1 tow rig. Definately plan on using your thread and listed reasources to help. Thanks for posting and stay safe out there.

Just was looking at your post again and thought the drivers door front handle looked deformed ? I don't qc every part so if you would like another set please let me know? Your call. I really can't wait to see the finished truck

Wow! I've been wanting to build a scaler dually similar to yours, I stumbled onto your thread and I have to say I'm glad I did! Truly amazing. I'll be keeping an eye on it for now on.

I haven't been on this site in quite awhile and first thing i did was look at your thread to see where you got. Damn that thing is looking good! I am also working on a recessed bed for my f-350. Totally worth the hard work!

who did your trailer? I'm going to build a dually tow rig and wanting one of those trailers. "thumbsup"

So did you ever finish the new bed? I see it says location Springfield? Wouldn't be oregon would it?

No, sorry, I'm in Springfield, Missouri. As for the bed, that's a no as well. It's been a really rough few months and I just haven't had the time to get it done.

I understand i drive truck as well for about 11 years now, with kids work and family my projects always get put on hold lol. Looking forward to updates on this when you get time love the build! I'm gonna build one to tow my 32" 1/10 scale cabin cruiser!

I have some exciting news for those that are wanting to build a scale dually! I have the solution for a narrowed rear axle! RC4WD has released their new D44 axle setup. Well, they released it a while ago but I just tried what I thought might work.

Here's what you'll need...

D44 Differential Housing (Z-S1030)
D44 Narrow Front Axle Tubes (SCX10 Width) (Z-S1023)
D44 Narrow Straight Rear Axle Shafts (SCX10 Width) (Z-S0899)
D44 Rear Axle Bearing Caps (Z-S1073)
D44 Narrow Front Axle Upper Link Mount (SCX10 Width) (Z-S1024)
D44 Lower Link Mounts for Wraith (Wraith Width) (Z-S1026)
An Axial locker and gear set of your choice.
2x 12mm Hexes with pins

Bearings:
2 * 5 x 11 x 4mm (Z-S0683)
2 * 10 x 15 x 4mm (Z-S0837)
2 * 5 x 10 x 4mm (Z-S0686)

You will also need a bench grinder!

I'm not going to go through the assembly process here. It comes with instructions and they are good ones. After assembling the center section, this is what you'll have and where the mods start.
