Changing from 1.55 ~ To 1.9 Size Wheels & Tires
I researched lot of pics & videos to see what was best for my truck.
I decided on:
"Gear Head" 1.9 Sixer Beadlock Wheels ~ CNC-machined, Delrin wheels with aluminum hubs
and Delrin beadlock rings.
& "Pro Line" Interco TSL SX Super Swamper XL 1.9" G8 Tires.

See my 1/10sc Trail Truck has an Army theme going on and the style of the Gear Head Wheels
just looked right for it. Also gaining a little more ground clearance with the Super Swamper's.
Just ordered them from Rpp Hobby for $156. That's a lot of money for me to spend at one time.
So I hope that I made the right choice. ~ I am about 95% sure that I did.
Here is a pic of my scaler with the Rc4wd 1.55's on it. & Will post pics of it with the new 1.9's
are on it. ~ I should get them next week.
(The pic of the Gear Head wheel has a 1.9 axial tire on it / Not a Super Swamper)

Have you taken into account how large the tsl sx tires are? They tower over just about any 1.55. They are amazing tires though. I absolutely love mine. The wheels I don't know much about. I do have several sets if gear head wheels and they are excellent quality. I will warn you though, I tried to mount tsls to a set of "ute" gear head wheels and the thicker bead prevented me from tightening down the rings all the way so watch out for that when you put them together.

Yeah the I thought you were going with the small TSLs. The XL's are 4.75" tall vs your current mud slingers which are only 4.11". Post pics, I have the TSLs and love them =)

Hay Thanks for all the feedback. ~ I know the XL Super Swappers are 4.75" tall
and that's what I was looking for something in that size range from 4 1/2" to 5" tall.
If I need to I can put some spacers under the body post to raise the body up a little.
Also the fenders / wheel openings on my clodbuster body are wider then stock.
I can cut down on the amount of articulation also of 2 3/4" by putting a spacer in the shocks.
I hope that I will only have to do one of them modification's and not Both. ~ LOL

{ If you want to know more about my truck, It's under: "1.55 scale rigs" (My Stomper 2.0) }
My post is in the middle of page 2 / Haven't posted in two months or so.

Now that I am going to 1.9 size wheels & tires / Can I start a new post in 1.9 scale rigs ?

Lead wheel weights used on 1.1 Wheels / For R/C Crawlers

I followed this tip I seen on YouTube about using Lead wheel weights used on 1.1 Wheels.

So I went to the local tire shop and ask if I could buy 4 small lead weight strips
you know the ones about the size of a penny so he came back with 5 strips of just what
I was looking for and he said here you go no charge ~ COOL & Thank You Vary Much !!!

Know you see if I went to my local hobby shop they would have cost me about 10 to 15 bucks
for something like them.

The Weights are a 1/2" by 3/4" on a 12 count strip / With a Peel & Stick backing.
I am assuming you can get them in different weights I got 1/4oz - 7gm - Each

Well come to find out this idea has been around sence the rc crawler hobby started.
I just found about this tip Two days ago. ~ LOL

I can't wait to get my new Wheel's & Tire's from Rpp Hobby
I sent them a Money Order so They should get it by this Friday 8-15-2014
So I should get them by Next Friday 8-22-2014

Up-date on shipping From Rpp Hobby they did get my MO Today 8/15 and shipped it out Today
& They sent me an e-mail saying I should get my order Monday 8/18 WOW That's like lighting fast. ~ And I thought Tower Hobbies was fast.
I dealt with Tower Hobbies a lot in the mid 90's when I was heavy in to R/C Car's & Truck's now that I am back into the R/C Hobby again I have another very good place to buy from.

I got my new wheels & tires mounted and they worked out perfect no clearance issues.
No modifications at all to the body height or suspension even at full articulation all good.
I did replace the bead-lock screws with 2mm x 12 that have a bigger hex size to avoid striping.
The custom front hubs I had to file them down a little to fit inside the center wheel hubs.
The wheel height and ground clearance are just what I wanted all good to go trailing.
The new tires are exactly 4 3/4" tall
