Central Ohio Crawlers Spring Summer 2012 Point Series

Looks like we should be dry all week. If this doesn't change, would there be any interest in the ravine at emerald for the comp on the 20th? We could always have someone check it Friday or so to ensure it is dry enough,if not we could just stick with acadamy. I just wanted to put it out there since we have been rained out there for the last 2 years and alot of the guys havent had the chance to run there.

Eric, your thoughts......anyone else

This Sunday

Alright fellas, I'm not posting the change yet so I don't jinx our luck, but by popular demand and weather cooperation we will probably be crawling in the Emerald Pkwy ravine this weekend!!! Keep your fingers crossed that mother nature likes us finally, and we can make this happen. I will post up by noon Saturday what venue we finally decide on"thumbsup"

Finally it is here....the ravine, here we come

That's right kids!!! Mother nature has finally cooperated with us, and we will be crawling at Emerald Parkway in the ravine this Sunday"thumbsup"

Be sure to check the first post for changes.

See everyone Sunday morning

being that i drug my feet all week, i didnt get any axle C's this week so i have to miss the ravine.....

good driving everyone that was a fun day of crawlin

Now I have a question and I'm not trying to start anything I got the call I deserved but my question is about what I was attempting to do and failed

The gate is from inside of gate marker to inside of gate marker yes?
Ok, so if I drive over the chalk outline of a dead gate and no part of my vehicle goes past that inside line of where the gate marker was did I enter the gate ? I'm just curious as I'd like to know if this is a viable option or should be avoided all together

I personally have some uncertainty with some gate entry scenarios. From what you describe, I would say you did not enter the gate. Of course i dont think i saw the call in question. Perhaps a call was made to hastily. You,in my mind, would have been justified to ask for time to be stopped to assess the logistics of it. Just my $.02

chalk line has nothing to do with it. Chalk is for gate placement.

The gate starts at the front edge of the ball you are entering.

As clearing a gate is when the tires leave the back edge of the ball.

The call was fine 1/4 - 1/2 my tire was actually inside the gate after a throttle blip so I entered the gate

I'm just trying to understand the rule better and I thought it might make for an interesting conversation :D

The ball was no longer in place had to go by chalk out line

So the plane you're entering extends acrossed the front edge of the marker so if you if you cross any part of the back edge of that representation of where the ball was with any part of your vehicle then you have broken the plane and entered the gate ...

Hmmm I think I got it now thanks tom

No problem. Its sometimes more complicated than it should be."thumbsup"
