Central Ohio Crawlers 2.2 Spring/Summer Point Series 2010

what if you offered a "buy in" for the series. say $25, that gets you a shirt and a steak. and then charge $5 for a comp.
don't mean to jack your thread, I'd like to try to comp with y'all some this summer, but I'm sure I won't be around enough for collecting points.
but I'd like to be there for the party!"thumbsup"and you can never have too many shirts

I have been watching all of the postes and everyone seems pretty open on the fee thing.
I think we can continue at the $5 rate to give a reason to try harder. I like T-shirts its all I wear. But I think one should show for at leaste 4 comps to earn one. I think we could do trophie style awards on the cheap.
I like the idea of doing a cook out BUT
A guy or gal that only shows for 1 comp shouldnt eat on everyone elses dime.... We could hold back a % of the earnings to help w/ a cook out and then ask small fee per head to compensate the difference?

Just a few thoughts. I do feel that an entry feey helps keep a competitive feel and provides the small goodies that may attract newbies or others from abroad.

I think we all plan to work out a few issues at Toms on Tues so I'll leave all of the reward/ fee/ payout issues open until then. Until then please continue posting any thoughts on Sat Or Sun Comps as well as any new sites and the details needed. I would at leaste like to get that together in the mean time.

Thanx fellas

"thumbsup"

See you all Tuesday!

So far, I think this idea solves all of my concerns.

How much would you be willing to spend for 1st place?

Might have a deal for ya:mrgreen:

was any progress made last night at tom's
Yes
We voted on a few issues and our official mascot will be a sea monkey!:flipoff:

Actualy we voted that

Gabe will be our club pres
Eric will be Tresurer
I will be Secretary

For this series:
-There will be a $5 entry fee per event.
For a $25 buy in you will be able to run in 5 events and receive a T-shirt.
Beyond that you will pay for additional events at $5 a piece.
Anyone who competes in 5 or more events will get a t-shirt once they have paid for their 5th event if they chose not to do the buy in.

-We will be comping at 10am on sunday mornings.
-We will be using the current national rules for progress (-2 per gate, Not Progressive Scoring) This will also be used on Tues. nights as well.

Ah crap now i gotta learn a new scoring system yeah right like i payed attention to the first one :lmao:

"thumbsup"The first post of this thread has been updated. It now covers the venues and includes a map to the first comp. "thumbsup"

Please help us out!

I have put together a new flyer (the 1st one had a misprint),
Please print it out and leave copies anywhere you believe it may draw attention.

FYI rule update

I have been reviewing the 2010 rules and came accross something I did not know:
1.12 - Course Direction (10 pts)
Gates must be cleared in their intended direction and sequence. Any part
of the vehicle entering an un-cleared gate in the wrong direction, or driven through out of sequence will result
in a 10 point penalty. The judge will stop time. The vehicle is then moved back by the driver to the previously
cleared gate with the rear axle aligned to that gate. If the vehicle cannot be aligned to the gate due to course
design, the judge will reposition the vehicle to the next stable location after the cleared gate. This location will
be used for all drivers. Once the gate is cleared and awarded progress it can be traveled in any sequence or
direction.
In the past this was a DQ on that course. I just want to help make sure all of the judging at our comps is fair and up to date. "thumbsup"
