Capo Sixer Suzuki vs. 1/6 ROCHOBBY MB Scaler

So after some disappointment with the general quality of two RC4WD Gellande RTR vehicles I bought (cheap screws, wobbly bearing clearances in the axle, etc which I covered in another thread) I decided to go a bit different route and pulled the trigger on the ROCHOBBY 1/6 mb scaler, something larger than 1:10. While not really a true crawler in my opinion (more of a scale vehicle that is also rc) you can't fault the scale detail and the reviews I've read don't seem to be too bad either.

Now on to the Capo. I know this is like comparing apples to oranges because of the material difference (mostly metal in the Capo and mostly plastic in the MB Scaler) and also because of the large price difference but I'm curious about a general comparison between the two. I did the usual web search and have come up short.

My MB scaler hasn't arrived yet so I can't give my impressions but one obvious thing is that both the Capo and he MB have the same HUGE (in my opinion) snafu/booboo in that they're not leaf suspension like their 1:1 cousins but coil shocks instead. That's why I went for the MB instead of the Capo. At what the Capo costs (about 3X more than the MB) I just can't accept the coil suspension. On a side note the prices of some of the big crawlers like the Capo or even the SCX6 are just ridiculous. I'd rather spend the $1000 or $1500 on my full size car ($1500 would buy a nice intake/carb system for my small block bowtie) than to sink it into what is essentially still a toy.

Anyways, what do you all say about the two?

I actually came in here to see if it was a comparison thread where you had both lol. I will probably never have either so cant help there but I hear you on price, I drive a $500 1996 subaru so RC stuff in general shocks me sometimes with the prices. $50-100 for a set of tires for example when automotive tires have steel belts in them and a ton of safety testing yet people will pay that for a set of rc tires that blow apart because you spun them too fast or how some wear out super quick.

I don't own a Capo, but the jeep you mentioned. I've been taking mine out on trails with some good sized rocks/gravel, it does excellent. Why didn't you get the Sozuki jimny? It is leaf sprung, but needs a few mods. I still haven't driven mine. Did you buy your on sale?

Sorry for the very, very late reply, I feel silly for the oversight. But to answer you yup bought it on sale from Horizon. I don't think the regular price is worth it. I noticed the regular price of these (on Horizon) has dropped from $399 last year to $329 currently and they've been as low as $199 during boxing weeek sales. Anywho, I have hardly run mine so can't really comment on long term durability but it looks the part (other than the leafs). The only reason I didn't get the Jimny is because I'm not a fan of the body styling. If only it came with a Samurai body. But then it might even be a competitor to the Capo Sixer (in scale looks at least) for a quarter of the price.

The Capo Sixer is a great looking kit but like all things Capo, has problems that shouldn't be there in the price range...
I don't have one but my friend has and had some trouble with it. Still has issues with the rear locker

The MB is a nice bit of kit, shame not having leafs. I'll have one soon and will adress that issue
