Campbell style IFS U4

Finally got around to taking this beast on it first drive. I was quite pleased with it.l, this thing is definitely not a trail truck but is still quite capable...and pretty darn quick. I was too busey wheeling it around to take many pictures, but I will try to get some more this week.

I really need to finish the interior.

Man! It's been too long since I have updated this! I kept on getting distracted by moving and playing with the 1:1 drift missle. Finally got the rear brace brazed in and I printed off a nice little LS Juan ;)

Parts printed....

Assembled....partially

....and Painted. It's not a super exact replica, but it's enough to get what it is. I do kind of wish I did ITBs with an air box on top. Still, it adds that little bit of cool factor :D

Brace for the rear lights.

Maybe I can find a use for the naca ducts.

Thanks! The engine is something I modeled and printed in the off hours at work. I'm working on a radiator/fan setup as well as some sort if intake. I do really want to get myself a printer so I can experiment more at home.

Nice looking build and the engine looks great! Have you uploaded it anywhere online? I would love to print myself one.

Seeing as how the original front cowl got a sizable ding I decided to make a new one for it. I'm debating if I want to change the paint scheme while I'm at it.

I got some more work done this weekend. I decided to add some more elements to the tube frame. I still need to get a radiator and intake printed off...
I need to start looking around for a local that does powder coating to get the frame finished up when all the brazing is done.

Brazed in a lower radiator mount/brace and some more structure.

New look for the front!

I'm missing one of the small light grilles unfortunately.

Added some more tubing to the chassis. Unfortunately I ran out of safety-silv and the stuff I ordered won't even ship for a week or two because it's back ordered. I find it "funny" that Airgas has a Troy ounce listed for $14 online and $40 and the local Airgas storefront.

Anywho... Pictures!

I have some gaps to fill when I get more Silv.

Well, just because I cannot braze anything does not mean that I cannot at least get some tubing cut, bent and properly fitted! I also painted a quick sample for the paint scheme colors.

Well. I finally was able to get the radiator setup printed and painted today. Not sure if I want to keep the end tanks black though. I also picked up an axial light bar today, just need that brazing rod.....

So, I ordered the wrong brazing wire. I failed to realize I got the cadmium free "T" wire and not he standard stuff. This doesn't seem to wick around the joint quite as well, even with proper fluxing of the joint. It still works, it just not quite the same. Needless to say I will be ordering some of the standard stuff, ha!

I finally got the body panels painted. The hex pattern is a gloss/flat contrast of the same color. The edges didn't turn out perfect but, I'm sure it will get beat up quickly anyways, hahaha.

I got a couple more bits brazed in place, still using this damned cadmium free stuff, but it's working out for the most part.

Thanks! I am fortunate enough to have a friend that has a vinyl cutter. I drew up the hex pattern in CAD, then handed it off to him. The lines I just kind of started laying vinyl down and that's what came out, lol.

Got a couple more supports brazed into the rear shock towers. I also got some radiator hosed put on there. The frame should be ready for powder coating after I get some light bar mounts brazed on.
