BVRC's CRC XV-01

Looks great so far.

BTW the window decals that came with the body are "tinted".

hm. for some reason when I saw yours they looked pretty dark? but this is good to know. I've got some of that polycarb "window tint" spray paint. I'll see what works best.

Be careful with that window tint. It is pretty fickle stuff. Plus if you use that I would still use the windows, but you may have to cut the windows out. The window trim really helps the look of the body.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never used it before, but thought it'd be fun to try. I may cut out the windows too. It'll be a few days before I paint the body, I've got some other things to work on... my wraith broke down again.

Interior progress 8)...
I don't really know what goes on inside of rally cars, but I made a little in-cab intake, and the co-driver has a little display.

Didn't want to detail faces, so I made covers with note cards and some carbon vinyl I had.

I may cut out the windows too.

I would advise against that.

-It takes strength out of the body.

-Allows debris into the chassis.

-Windows must be rolled up in real rally racing. :ror:

The strength would be a really high concern for me. The body was not meant to have the windows cut out. One or two high speed rolls could total the body...

I meant the decals, not the actual lexan. "thumbsup"

new wheels for the Citroen DS3.
6mm offset in the rear.
3mm offset in the front.

The Boneshaker.

>Far from done.
>an older HPI "tail pipe"
>Still playing with lights. I'm going to ditch the thought of using the Axial nvs system. I have one of axials basic led kits (the one that comes on the wraith rtr). So I'm going with that for now.
>right now I'm playing with 4 led lights mounted in the front, on top of the foam bumper. They'll shine through the clear lexan where the intercooler would be mounted in the real life.
>Working on the brake light mounting.
>thinking about sniping these tamiya rally block tires (probably in the Turtle fashion)
>Still getting the interior to fit right. Working on a roll cage.
>Also really want to test and get the sway bars right. I hope that'll keep my tires on the ground more...

Looks good mate!

I haven't been able to find those light pods in stock either, since I hacked up and destroyed my set.

This is the roll cage I bought 1/10 Roll Cage (White) although I reckon I paid 5 times that much on ebay, rather than Hong Kong! Check out my thread for how it looks in a car: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/rally/398909-rally-time.html

Well done on the interior. Some nice details in there "thumbsup"

first bit of breakage... I lost the outer snap ring on the universal. Luckily the universal kit comes with an extra "thumbsup"

Thanks Lord!
Yeah it sucks there are no light pods to be found.
I ended up grabbing a roll cage on ebay for 8usd plus shipping. Waiting on it to arrive now.

Thoughts about having lights on the inside of the body?

I think that is a good idea! It will keep from breaking the lights, you don't have to put holes in the body and yeah, looks pretty good. Not super scale, but a very efficient way to do it. I approve. "thumbsup"
