Looks familiar! "thumbsup"

It was a fun run!
I'm getting tired of loosing winch hooks though, I may have to keep the next one in my pocket!

I wont be around this weekend but maybe if anyone is in town the 4th we can meet up the 3rd or 2nd.

I could do the third.

Mate thats a great looking bug, you've but alot of time into it but well worth it when you see the finished product. "thumbsup"

Thanks Aussie Revo!
I need to get back to it...

I have to trim all my links. I upgraded the Rod ends to the big Revo ends (I apparently had the smaller ones before) and now all my links are to long.

I need to redo the front drive shafts.

Paint the new body.

My 17 year old cousin bent my rear axle and smashed up my roof rack and fog lights!

I added the Junfac wideners (I think that's what led to the bent axle)... I'm not sure I like them. I need a few more runs with them on before I decide.

I picked up a set of used/new 1.9 Baja Claws so I can run a G6 that's coming up next month.

My winch is no longer working.

I seem to be having electrical issues. While in water, I no longer have reverse. As soon as I drive out of the water, I have reverse again.
I think it has something to do with Heyok's BEC.
I may switch out the servo to the one I bought for my FOFF rig.
It has a higher torque rating at 6v, 277oz.

My steering seems loose. I think it's from the rubber tape that's wrapped around the servo.

So, I've got some work to do
I've had various family members visiting the past few weeks and no time for my hobbies... I did manage to lay out some links for my FOFF build.

CC BEC. :)

And maybe switch to Wraith axles when people can get ahold of them? They are wider, so would save the issue with using extensions.

Thanks LNR!

Update: I worked all weekend on this and my FOFF rig... man, I love tinkering;-)
Painted the out side Pactra Metallic Black and then gave it 1 coat of clear coat. I was going to buff it out but I kinda like the flat black.
I made a new fog light assembly. It's a Axial 4 link truss and SCX10 frame brace "thumbsup"
I also made a visor from some left over lexon.
Shortened the front links and reworked the shock tower braces.
I rerouted ALL the electronics.
The rear axle is bent on both sides... I have some parts on the way to fix that.
I bent the exhaust and front bumpers back into position.

yeah, it's looking tough, I like it.
My original plan was flat black or primer... a back yard build look.

I wasn't sure about adding the fog lights up top, I've always been a fan of less is more. I think I'll leave the roof rack off... damn scale points!

EDIT: BTW, Zero... what happened to you this weekend? No run time... I still think we need to have a bbq/bash day!

Yeah I hear ya... but if you dominate the events, then scale points won't quite mean as much. ;)

Looking bad ass John!
If possible, get me some nice"on the rocks" pics at your next event."thumbsup"

Sure thing!
I'm planning on running a G6 this weekend if everything works out.
I broke 2 shocks last night while jumping this little hill I found... the bug can fly! I spent 45 mins driving around in high gear, it was a blast! I'll get video, this thing is fast!
But, I only had 2 Traxxas 3.5" and 2 4" shocks... I put them on but it's really screwing with my stance. I know I don't have time to order a set so I think I'm stuck with them for now.

Got the shocks covered!
Thanks thzero!

Before this weekends comp I need to:
1. Build at least 2 new shocks.
2. Shorten the front lower links a tad and the font upper links 2 tads ;-)
The front 4 link mount is hitting the servo arm and the axle seems clocked just a lil to much.
3. Cut a new front drive shaft.
4. Get a servo extension for the winch or add some length to the wires. The winch wires are about 4 inches to short for where I want to mount my electronics.

Here's a shot of my 2 damaged shocks.
Broke the one on the right and, without realizing the one on the left lost a nut, I drove it 2 blocks on the sidewalk dragging the shock under the axle... grinding away the top mount.

Last night I replaced both tops with parts I got from thzero "thumbsup"

My new rear straight axle shafts came from RPP yesterday, very fast shipping... I ordered them, I think, Monday afternoon.

I pulled apart my rear axle to swap them and realized I'm a big dummy... I totally didn't think about the bearings!

The 2 outside ones are stuck on the bent axle shafts

I wish I had order them from RPP when I ordered the shafts.
I'm going to call my local Snobby Town and hope they have them in stock.

If not, I'll be running my rear FOFF axle, with no under drive gear, for this Sundays G6... or I guess, I should be able to pull the bearings from that axle and install them on this axle.

If not Axial ones, they should have Traxxas or HPI bearings. Those are pretty common bearing sizes.

I wish I had order them from RPP when I ordered the shafts.
