Burnt up TWO savox 2270's. Am I the only one?

Nope. The first one got hot enough that it melted through the wires, that then shorted together. That one still smells like rotten fish, almost a month later.

Savox is a crap servo. You get what you pay for just like when buying anything else. Hitec is the only way to go. Great servos and even greater customer service. I've given try after try to other brand servos, multiples of most brands and always end up back with hitec. Imo, they are the best standard servos on the market.

I'll buy another 1230sg savox for $60 way before I throw more money at a lesser Hitec. I like hitec, not a hater, but I have never had a single issue with my savox.

I had 2x 1230's.. Traded them Both, for One 7950.. I'll Throw money at Hitec everyday all day!

As for "you get what you pay for"..(got to read the whole thread) The OP paid 130$ a piece for his savox.. He Did Not get what he paid for.. IMO

" savox is right up there with Hitec " Baahahahaha..

Well... So far the 2nd 2270 has lasted one whole 15 minute trail run. (Apparently I used that battery in the rwd drift car more than I thought I did...) the new BEC seemed to straighten er up. As much as I'd like to jump on the "savox is garbage" bandwagon, the fact it still works after a faulty BEC seems to work well in its favour. If it dies, then a 7950 is where I'll be going. Or maybe that bad ass 600 oz futaba one. Till this one dies completely, I'll run it.

Yeah he paid too much, until one of mine dies, I'm not spending any money on hitec, at all.

Great. 2nd one just died. I didn't get 15 minutes through it. That's IT! No more savox. Never again. I cannot explain how frustrating it is to go through one $130 servo in a month. Never mind 2, and a BEC. :@ :@ GARBAGE.

Since the first one, I've even changed up to a Futaba 4pls, with the 7.4v capable receivers, so I can just plug in the servo, and BEC without needing to cut or solder the wires to the BEC or servo Incase I did have an issue with warranty.

I run all my stuff like you just said, never an issue. Granted my stuff is 6V but I run em at 6.2v without issue

I'm almost thinking that's the problem. I had to run it without a BEC for a while, and it seemed to be OK then. That was just powered off the rx. This very well may be advertised as a high voltage servo when it just can't handle it.

Did you burn up just one BEC or two? You mentioned it twice so I just want to make sure.

Also, I concur with the 7950 and done. I have one in a 12lb wraith on 8.4 volts that barely gets warm, never stalls and has actually broken a few rocks.

In all honesty I have 2 1231's on a 2.2 bouncer, I've smacked them directly on rocks, stalled them, broken horns in half due to crashes and I've not had 1 single issue. I don't do mud or water either. They are running off the RX powered by a CCBEC set to 6.2v and they have been great for over a year now
