So I've just been drooling over this truck since I saw the first pic on Facebook. Plus with the videos of it at Moab doing some of the trails, I had to dive into a new build. To be honest, I've been waiting for something to inspire me and this has.

It's going to be a full custom chassis and I'll be converting a Pro line f250 scx10 ext cab body into a crew cab to match the real deal. 4ws, 2 winches and a bunch of LEDs. If I get really creative, maybe even the speakers in the rear ;)

Here's the real deal.

The parts list gets crazy with this thing.....
Lots of new parts as I'm not parting out one of my other rigs for once. Most are in order but still need to find money for he rest ;)

Chassis:
Cberc chassis rails - nice and simple and wraith skid mount already built in!
3/16 Dom tubing at 0.035"wall
3/16" Dom ss tubing at 0.02" wall
1/8" solid rod
Custom made by me
Wraith Skid plate

Suspension:
Prob the new incision ss link set...haven't decided yet...
Axial King 4" shocks for the wraith (plan to make my own fake reservoirs)
Rr10 bomber lower link mounts for more mounting options
Currie sway bar for yeti

Axles/driveline:
Ssd diamond f/b
Ssd pro chubs and pro knuckles f/b
Axial universals f/b
Axial HD gears
FI spoil or incision spools
Mip drivelines
Bombproof trans with HH ext output

Wheels/tires:
Rc4wd 2.2 military painted yellow
Rc4wd interco iroks or mickeys. The 1:1 has mickeys but they really don't perform to my liking. We'll see .....
CI foams of course

Electronics:
Castle bec's and mmp
Prob a tekin roc412 3100.....but maybe something bigger ;)
Trusty savox 1231 servos
Airtronics mt4 to get that rear steer on the lever
Castle sidewinder for winch control
3racing with locked up rc motor in rear. Maybe the same in front....or a cberc servo winch
Tons of maddog rc light bars... ;)

Body:
2x Pro line f250 ext cab for honcho. Cutting the back off of one to make a crew cab.
Luckily I work for Caterpillar so getting my hands on some Cat yellow paint isn't a problem ;)

Shooting for around 14" wb. Want to have it ttc capable as we're looking to hold one later this summer or fall. Also want to see if I can outdo my FJ40 in capability.

Parts start arriving this week!!!!

Why not start with the tamiya F-350 bodies to have a true scale hardbody?

Either way should be a killer build.

I have seen someone, maybe on eBay, that sells a crew cab hard body, doesn't matter that is the 99-06 style like the Tamiya since this truck doesn't use the headlights.

Also, when I saw the title "Brodozer" I had something else completely different in mind. I was expecting a mall crawler.

Thanks guys, this is going to be a killer rig. Can't wait for the base frame rails to show up so I can start fabrication. Axles should be here tomorrow!!!

I thought about it but I really like the size of the proline body vs. how small the tamiya body is. A friend of mine has bonded a couple lexan bodies into one with good success. Plus with the way I drive, I need a little more resistance to breaking

I will be painting the outside too so that will cover up some of the imperfections.

I figured it might throw some people off. I was surprised when the diesel brothers named it that. I assume somewhat in irony as it was actually going to be used and used hard. No mall crawlers here...

First packages of parts came today....Awesome!!!

Ssd axles, wheels and shocks.

Really like the Ssd axle housing. As many I'm sure have said. It's well made and looks really strong. I love the fact that the threaded holes for the chubs are pretty thick so hopefully will hold the chubs well.

Going with FI spool and 38/13 up front. Also using the vanquish knuckle bushings.

The 5x13 pinion bearings in and out are sweet. The ones that come with the axle are metal shielded. I had one revolution bearing from avid that I put in to have a rubber seal on the outside.

Another really nice feature is the link mount truss has two threaded holes as you thread the bolt thru.

The Ssd pro knuckles give some really good steering angle too.

Mounted up one of the militant wheels. Dang a lot of hardware but love how they look!!!
Used an old Mickey ttc I have with the old compound. Won't use them in the end but I'll work for now.

Set the donor f250 body up just for perspective.

In the meantime I got the bombproof trans put together with some new bearings in my roc412 3100kv

Axial 4" king shocks arrived too. I know they aren't the best shocks bit they fit the bill and I think they'll perform pretty good for my needs. 4 aluminum shocks with King colors for $40...that works for me.

ive heard of people bending those ssd housings
lmk how that goes for you or if you experience it at all

Id hate to see what they did to do that! I've been beating one on my yeti for months now..

Watching this one, knew it was a matter of time before someone attacked this one. The 1:1 is sweet

I sure hope I don't bend one.... It won't be U4 racing but will be through some tough terrain and planning a TTC this summer

Small update today. It's been a busy few days.

CBE rc frame rails showed up. Exactly what I need to start fab. No shock hoops to cut off and a reasonable price. Plus they're 100 thousandths thick. Just need to cut the back part off and get going ;)

Decided to get some work done on the body so I can lay out the chassis.

I used a 2008 f250 proline crewcab body to scale the amount to add to the new body.

Cutting has begun.

Now time to cut the new one.....

I cut out the rear door window for each part so it won't have a seam. Plan to glue in a new piece of lexan for a window. I cut up the rest of the cab to make backing support plates. These work great as the follow the contours of the body.

Ok guys, I need some help on tire selection.

The 1:1 uses Mickey Thompson ttc baja claws.

14b8ff31b60924c349794e3a5dc9770d.jpg

Although they are one of my favorite looking tires ever, I am not huge on there performance.

At our local club test and tune yesterday. A buddy said "why not use pitbull growlers?" They're chevron design, great compound and they do work really well here in Mn (especially if you trim some lugs)

So I'm looking for feedback on where I should go....

Option 1 - RC4wd Mickey Thompson 2.2 ttc in x2ss

Option 2 - Pitbull Growler 2.2

Option 3 - RC4wd Mickey Thompson 2.2 ttc Radial

Option 4 - RC4wd Irok swamper 2.2 (Totally goes away from the scale look but I already have a set in x2ss and they are a great all around tire)

I'm kinda leaning pitbull or ttc radial.... I just don't know.....

I love love love growlers!!!!!! But I do think they would look great on your build. In my uneducated opinion
