bilinvic's Wraith Rock Crawler

I run a single 2200mah 3s 50c Venom and was pleasantly shocked the first time it ran for 2 hours before dying. I bought 2 more the next day. The rig looks great bilinvic. This is one of my top go to threads when I need motivation. You inspired me to install my lighting setup today.

A few new parts and changes to my Wraith....

1. Since I had the single King shock in the back with the ProLine Powerstroke (Slash Rear) shocks, I could resist throwing on a pair of the newly released RC4WD Short Course King Shocks (110mm) so everything is now matching. I tuned the shocks using the ProLine springs and used 30 wt shock fluid. I'll have to order some of the blue RC4WD SC King spring kits though. The supplied blue springs were to soft for my heavy machine! The SC King shocks are quite a bit larger in diameter than the normal King shocks and feel really nice. I look forward to trying them out.

2. SSD hubs for the rear wheels. I already had them for the front......and yes, I am aware locking hubs don't go on the rear!!! But I like them and they help to keep the wheel nuts from loosening up.

3. Yeah Racing fuel jugs mounted. That space in the rear seemed too empty.

4. And finally, the best performance improvement I have done so far..... A squirt of NOS :lmao: Yeah Racing NOS tank.

Although my Wraith has been dialed in perfectly to my liking, I'm hoping the shock change doesn't dramatically change the crawling performance.

Just spent half the day reading this thread start to finish. Absolutely beautiful rig you have there sir.

Will be referring to this thread a lot, hope to have a bit more input from you in mine.

5/5

Slay.

Hello i just want to ask a question do you have anymore pics of the interior and how it hid the esc thanks

Thanxs akatz.....the lights and clmaps are Axial parts that I have accumulated from kits and RTR's I have purchased.

The DMG Black Pearl Wraith is going to try out some new rubber...Proline's Flat Iron XL. I've read good reports regarding these tire's performance, although mounting them on the Gear Head wheels took some time and patience! The tires are stuffed with Crawler Innovations Double Deuce 6.0” Standard Inner / Medium Outer foams.

They are quite a bit larger in height than my normal selection of tires; my Wraith's CoG is fairly low and I could use a bit more ground clearance to clear the Wraith's larger skid compared to my Wroncho Bug's smaller SCX10 skid.

Fingers are crossed that these tires perform well.

Had a chance to take the Wraith out to test the new Flat Iron XL tires and RC4WD SC (rears) King shocks.

I am very impressed with tires performance right out of the bag....I didn't even give them a bath treatment of "purple power" before their first use. They gripped some extreme rock climbs today that I would have never ever thought my Wraith would conquer. And to think, they will just get better as the get broken in....can't wait!

The shocks did good, but they need tuning. Heavier weight oil in the rears and maybe slightly stiffer springs. That being said, I have already ordered a full set of Pro-Line Pro-Spec SC (rears) shocks and these have had some terrific online reviews.

The guys were blown away by some of the lines I accomplished today and hopefully my good friend Luc will have some video up on his YT channel within a few days.

Some more improvements on the way.....

Pro-Line Pre-Assembled Pro-Spec Shocks SC Rear (x4) with Optional Spring Assortment:

Time to get rid of the rotational mass! RC Bros knuckle weight system.

I had just replaced the regular VP knuckles with VP's Scale knuckles....now I have to change 'em back since the knuckle weight system only works with the standard VP knuckle! I'm sure my Wroncho bug won't complain!

I sure will. I have multiple sets of the Proline Powerstroke SC rear shocks because they perform so great and these Pro-Spec are supposed to be even better.

Love the shocks but they are huge on a wraith. I'm still tweaking the gmade xd shocks. I have decided I am going to make them work no matter what it cost lol.
