bilinvic's SCX10.2 Build Ver. 2

Yes, all stock internal Axial parts can be used. There is no comparison...they are better in every way and the extra weight is good too.

I changed the rear springs to lower spring rate; Team Associated No. 6482 2.33. They are 15 x 70mm and fit the Yeti front Icon shocks perfectly.

I also swapped out the Xpert servo for a HH HV400 that I have kickin' around to see if it feels stronger. Although the HV400 isn't a very reliable servo, the servo in a 10.2 is quick and easy to change out on the trail if need be.

quick question on the wrap , you use a heat gun ? hard to apply ? yours looks awesome, posted a picture of mine # 217, just plain white nothing fancy, lol

Thanxs. Yes, I used a heat gun...you can't wrap without one and I don't think a hair dryer is very effective for quick heat to manipulate the wrap material. I would say yes, wrapping a scale body isn't so easy; an abundance of patience is required.

Great looking rig. How does the Freqeskinz hold up to scratches? Doesn`t start to peel off when getting a scratch on the body?

They're pretty hard to peel off when applied properly to a clean, new body. I've got ones that are a couple years old and they are as stuck on there as the day I applied them.

What imthatguy said! If an edge does lift a bit, a quick blast from the heat gun helps.

Just build my scx10 ii kit and have it built with a hh 3500 kv setup. How are your ring and pinion gears holding up?

I haven't checked, hopefully good.

I picked up the Gear Head RC Slim Line Roof Rack (GEA1286) from RPP. I like how it looks and it will help to protect the roof section of the wrap. I also changed out the round rollbar lights for the squarish version.

Bil, I'm looking at this body/cage combo for my wroncho. Just over 13" wb with Axial KR2 tires. Foresee any issues?

Bill amazing build. I can't wait to go find your first one now. I'll be getting a second kit for my son to build as soon as they are in stock somewhere again.

With the stock kit xj body think you would recommend the bumper and the sliders?

Sliders: RC4WD Tough Armor Side Steel Sliders for the 10.2

Thanxs very much GoatFarmRC. I do like the RC4WD 10.2 sliders, they are a little wide, but work extremely well with my set-up; they are more useful than a hindrance IMHO. The front Wertymade bumper is highly recommended, but may look a little off with the wide XJ body.

Great day running the v2 10.2 today, 5 hour crawl up and down Mount Wells. I can't believe the HH HV400 servo lasted without breaking and/or bending a center gear pin!!!

I honestly can't think of anything I would change, this machine crawls so damned good; the balance is perfect, the shocks are perfect, low and high speed performance is perfect....I'm VERY happy to say the least!
