im in for the next time you guys have a get togeather

Keep watching this thread. I think my next trip is the 8th down to Larry's.

Okay, I've been having this stalling problem when ever I get into a tight situation. The truck locks up in what ever direction it's going and then goes normal in the other direction. I was reading on another thread that this is due to the motor. I've been running the same 55t since I got the truck. So that's been about 4 years I think. Does this sound right to any one else?

I cant believe none of you guys built a course in your garage for the winter yet. Come on !!! But it cool to see that your still crawlin. I hope to have at least one of my crawlers running after christmas. that is depending on if we get snow or not. Ive only put 136 mile on my sled so far.

I'm planning on taking my rig apart and cleaning and repainting things and was wondering about the what grease should I use when putting the axles and transmission back together. I have some grease that I use on boat trailer axles. Would there be anyproblem with using that to redo the axles and trans or should I just order some of the axial stuff.

LoL I don't see why not !

The thicker the better. or else when the weather starts getting warmer you'll start to get a oilly resdue leaking from your axles. I made that mastake with one of my first axials. It was a complete mess in 80 weather. It was white grease for our boat trailer. dont use it. Now on the last 10 scalers I built I used lucas red and tacky , you can get it from auto zone. Now for the trans The axial is almost a exact replica of the stealth trans I always used stealth grease. and never a problem. and all you guys Know how bad I beat on my scalers.

Jeff!! My silver and red scout I built, I cleaned the axle housing with brake clean then sealed it with black rtv. The used a syeinge to fill the axle with grease with the inner axle out and I used traxxas blue sealed bearings with a light coating of rtv around the outer race. it was a little extreme but I want my sh$t to last.
