any crawlers in MN?

yeah, I know. But I have a new TLT kit w/bearings and can't decide if I want to build a tuber or a trail/scale rig.

Not sure if I want to try and build a tuber or buy a DiazDesign's trail chassis. Those scalers just look too cool. Would like to build one w/sealed electronics to go mudding and such. Looks like too much fun.

by tomorrow morning there will probably be some very large snowbanks in store parking lots. i wish i had a crawler right about now. still trying to get a job though. i have a slightly long driveway that my neighbor plows. with this snow it would take all day literally to shovel the whole driveway with this am ount of snow. with a long driveway i also have a very large and tall snowbank. the only place i have to drive my only rc(my mamba powered xxx-t) is in my driveway and the dirt road in front of my house once plowed. one of my c-clips on one of my rear hingepins is and has been missing for a while now. yesterday that hingepin came partially out aand i had to tear down my truck to get it back in because i have some stripped screwheads to work around. after a new battery i am definately getting an aftermarket screw kit. i also was wondering if you guys know if a 9.6v side by side pack with the 8th cell on top of the pack would work in a tlt sw2. should i get a 9.6v? that is the highest voltage my charger can handle, but should i use a lower voltage? i will be using a mamba max and a brushless outrunner.

even though my neighbor is coming over to plow later today, my slavedriver of a dad is making me shovel my long driveway that has almost a foot of snow on it (but we got over a foot total). he says he wants to be able to get my moms car out if needed, but he is going to work, and my mom has a shoulder and neck injury so she probably wouldn't be driving anywhere. he can be so ridiculous sometimes. i get payed but it still is very hard work with such a large area to clear.

Well I got my crawler out yesterday and worked on it some. Modified the front dig a little and lowered the whole thing. It balances on either side now without tipping over. But, the belly hangs a little lower and it has some more torque twist. May try it this way, a little droop and a little less ground clearance. I may try limiting the rear shocks a little. Looking forward to the first GTG whenever that may be.

So, what should I do with the clod I acquired (for free"thumbsup" )? I was thinking a 2.2., but I already like the one I have. It came with a TRX speedo and 2 sets of motors. I was thinking of going cheep and making a torsion stick. I plan on running at some comps, but not too serious about it. Maybe a 2.2 mudder truck? Or turn it into a big mud truck? Not sure, but I want something low maintenance and low cost. I still have to buy tires/rims for it. I should probably get a couple of big servos for it, too.

Casey, you could give me that Clod and that would keep the maintenance WAY down

I was thinking the same thing.;-)

IMO, if you want to keep it simple and cheap, build yourself a torsion (a.k.a. Pimpcane). They work great and they're the easiest to build."thumbsup"

Stupid snow.... It was fun to drive it through the snow though, and take it for a little drive on the street today :-P

So....... I get a call from Rick and his bro Jim from down in Ill. Rick says "Freetime, I have a buddy thats got an older Chevy 4x4, I know you were looking for a beater, and thought of you right away" Now I'm by no means a Chevy guy, but I could hardly pass up a good deal.
Here's a couple of pic's. I went and picked it up Fri. I still have to add some Redneck touches. Bumpers, wench, Some new tires, and a few accessories.
Running gear (so far) is pretty much bone stock cc-01.

Thanks Rick!!! If you and Jim wanna go wheeling sometime? give me a call

I already put on a new front fender to replace the dented rusted One. Found it in the bone yard on the way home.
