AnimalHippie's Trx-4 Adventure

I will be painting the outside. Scuff the outside with 1000grit. First a few light coats with Krylon Fusion black. From what I have been told by a few others it does good. It has held great on my test piece of lexan. Then lightly scuffing the black for next coat. Then I will be shooting 3-4 coats of spazstix not telling color until finished. I will also be spraying a coat of spazstix clear once everything has cured.

I was thinking about clearing the body with nitro fuel, but after talking with a couple guys at the last event that had done it. I decided not to go that route. One guy took 3 days of scrubbing with nitro fuel to get all the red paint of his defender. Also I would have to disassemble the back of my cab and I'm not sure how that would turn out due to me making sure it wasn't going to come apart when I put it together

Ok so I got a bit a tinker time this evening and finally got the flashlight light bar finished up. Thing is bright and worked out perfectly for where I wanted it. If you had to buy the flashlight and c channel I used you'd have about $15 into this project. Maybe $20 if you needed hardware. I didn't solder the aluminum together as I was worried about heating the COB LED. I used E6000 to hold everything together. I have dropped this light on the ground at least 10 off the bench on accident since glueing. Still holding strong. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Here's some pics.

Found these rocks today at the in-laws house. They were fun. I got a few mins to play on them. Think I will make them part of my trail I make over there this winter. Also ran a bit on the backyard course with the wife tonight. Had a good time! Both rigs running great. New light bar is sweet! Can't wait to finish up the other lights I'm working on.

Looks like a really nice spot. Glad to hear everything is running good.

Ok so I made myself take everything of the body last night. If I didn't just do it. It might not ever happen. This is the last pic of the red body. Weather should be perfect this next week for paint. Here we GO!

I prepped the body and started noticing how many of the scratches my rig has acquired in the past 6 months that are very deep. Some pretty good dings and dents. I went ahead and sprayed the black Krylon Fusion on the body last night. It came out pretty good I think. I don't think I'm going to spray the mystery paint on this body. I have a new project coming up in the next while that I will be using it on. I like the look of the black. Also if I added more paint I'm sure I would lose all the body lines. The black has made them very faint. Will probably be a couple days before I put all the extras back on. Here's some pics!

Great job on the pocket led light to lightbar! E6000 is great for building and repairing so many things! Black is final outside paint color?
