A deeper look within the Redcat Everest 10 crawler

Ok a update on running 3cell it browns out the servo, it seemed to be just fine but noticed the stock servo not operating on full power, gonna install a castle bec this wknd, switched back too a 2 cell it worked just fine, so be carefull with 3cell for now its just touch an go with stock electrics.

plan on getting more action shots this weekend hopefully.

was going to do the lockers but i think im going to instead try to find a used set of ax10 axles that arnt too torn up

did the ax10 axle swap, real easy to do even went to wildboar axial driveshafts with pins.

Yeah, I thought that might be the case; same as axial ae2 esc. Thanks for letting us know!

Very poor quality and my daughter doesn't seem to have study hands ;-) AND I'm not sure I'm even posting these right. Here goes :ror:

After bashing it through an entire battery ( 1 hour 20 minutes ) I stacked 2 of the spring clips on the left rear shock. It did make the left corner a little stiff, but the torque twist almost completely vanished and it does seem to climb way better now that it's not all whopper jawed. Now to add 4 wheel steering.

Little bit better video of the E10. 13 year old daughter at the controls and me with the phone. She's a better driver and I've got a studier hand, but letting her run it around the yard this afternoon cost me another 130 bucks "thumbsup" This cheapo truck has taken another victim!

I just got mine in today. I think overall it is a great deal for the money. The steering is kind of atrocious though.... reminds me of a stock HPI Crawler King. So far my only complaint for a very reasonable $135.00....

Try trimming the steering stops. I completely did away with the stops on mine and it made a big improvement in the steering radius, but in a tight turn while the suspension is fully compressed on either side the tire will rub the shock a lil bit.

how well does the lockout kit fit?

It fits well, but some modification is required.

This is the lockout & straight axle kit I used:
Hot Racing Axial AX-10 SCX-10 Rear Axle Lock Out Kit SCP56L01

and you'll also need
Axial AX80002 SCX10 AX10 EXO Wraith Differential Case - Small: AX10 Scorpion
Axial AX30500 SCX10 AX10 Wraith Heavy Duty Differential Locker (2)
(0r you could get a spool or upgraded locker set instead of these^..)

To install, I removed the stock c-hubs, and filed down the nubs on the axle tubes a little bit, until the lockers would slide on.
Then I sanded the inner edge of the lockers,
(red circle edge in the picture of the lockers),
on a belt sander until they would slide on far enough for the screw holes to line up on the axle tubes.
Other than that it all goes together like stock, using the stock bearings.

for the CVDs I used
Hot Racing Axial AX10 Scorpion SCX10 Scale Truck Steel CV Set SSCX288
These were direct fit assuming you're also using 2nd half of the above mentioned Axial diff case and locker set in the front axle.

Hey all, just got my son one of these and have a few quick questions:

1. The ESC is not officially "lipo ready" so we'll have to add a low voltage alarm, correct?

2. The electronics, including the receiver are waterproof from the factory, correct?

3. The weakest point on this truck seems to be the diff lockers, correct?

If I am correct on all points, this is a wicked bit of kit for $135. We only do trailing/crawling so we don't have to have a super bashable truck. I'm thinking about grabbing an Everest 16 to check out, any thoughts on those?

Some have run lipo with stock esc but not lipo ready out of box so low voltage cut off a good idea.

Esc and servo are waterproof but the receiver is splash proof adding some di-electric grease is another good idea.

So far out of box the lockers suck so upgrading them from the get go is good.

I'm running the TCS X-trail chassis now, with MIP AX10 driveshafts,
Hot Racing Transmission and Sensored Brushless setup will be going back in tomorrow. I have some Vid running with Mambamax Pro on the stock chassis, but everytime I try to mixdown the video my computer shuts down all of a sudden..

Motoworx Wheels with 1.9 Trepadors

^This is with the stock shocks in Droop, with no internal springs,
Works pretty well but I have some 90mm shocks on the way.
