2014 RC4WD East Coast Scale Challenge (August 22-24)

He said they would not let him take a drill battery on the plane...... pretty messed up
I could see a drill as it could be more commonly used to cause danger but the batteries them self as long as you don't have a bunch it shouldn't matter. I usually travel with a laptop or two, tablet, mifi, and two cell phones. That would equal a few of our batteries. You could try to call and ask or look at the website. They might have info there.

Hey guys: I am prepping my body for the ECSC and had not been there last year wanted to pose a question... I saw in the rules (for Class 1) it states no trimming of the fenders, although, I see many fellers trimming the rear corner, and trimming off the front valence altogether. Is this legal in class 1? I wasn't sure if it was referring to trimming the radius of the fender, or any part whatsoever...

And, on another rule: Are batteries allowed in truck boxes like in my pic, or do they have to be strapped to the chassis?

Thanks fellers, and can't wait to meet you all in a few weeks...

I sure hope that's OK. Seems to be enough rules to play with toy trucks to have fun as it is. :ror:

You should ask here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/scal...scale-rules-discussion-question-thead-19.html

The box is fine...

This came right from the rule book for class1. seems pretty cut and dry to me

"The vehicles body must be mostly intact. Only mild trimming such as flairs & removing a hardtop are allowed"

Timmy...only thing I would suggest on this set up is some strong magnets and a grommet for the wires to go through. Excessive wheeling could cause the wire to rub through and short out the battery.

I put silicone around mine to create a grommet... "thumbsup"

That's the plan, my man! I filed the edges of the hole 'round' as well. I have some crazy-strong rare-earth magents glued on each end (as you can see in the pic) that I got from amazon dot com. They are so strong it bends my finger-nails backwards when I open the lid.

140 gates!?!?! I better pack a lunch, some 'depends', and a few dozen batteries.
