2014 RC4WD East Coast Scale Challenge (August 22-24)

I'd suggest this hotel probably being the closest. Its newly built within the last year, I think its the closest of any.

Hampton Inn & Suites New Castle
2608 W State St
New Castle, PA 16101

ETA Comfort is closer, but Hampton is new.

I believe I had them listed closest to furthest...with Hampton being the furthest by about 6 miles...still not bad...12 total miles and a straight shot.

Any chance you can send me some info on what class I may fall under and what the rules are as far as build wise for the class.

would be bringing a few scx10s with me if I can make it out for the event.

you should definitely come out man. even if you dont want to compete there are plenty of people just fun running and its just a KILLER spot.

Watching this thread like a hawk! I know you said this one might be a little bigger, but Im still living in fear of tickets being sold out before I get one! Haha

The Website for the campground shows cabins to rent. Did anyone stay in them last year?

the one I visited was small but nice. It had AC!
I was in a yurt last year and want to try and get a cabin this year.
But, as John posted, DO NOT try to rent a cabin before buying your tickets or you'll be booted from the comp.

He did say it will follow sorrca.com rules which are found at sorrca.com

If I recall reading the registration proceedure, campers, and tents are available any time?

I'll be tent bound with my class 2...

The SORRCA rules mention for truggy beds, they have to replace the ladder frame behind the cab with tube...where would my scx10 honcho cage fit into the class 2 mix? Or do I need to cut the frame to make a tuber rear cage? A little outa my limits with that one though.

from the 2013 thread.

my only critique is for the Show and Shine.
There should be a separate category for trucks that do not compete...

It doesn't seem fair that a shelf queen can go up against a rig that just spent 4 hours breaking parts on those trails.

i completely agree with this. seperate group for comp trucks.

if i had known we could bring shelf queens i would have showed off lemonade and maybe walked away with a trophy. dare i say i know i would have?...

:flipoff:

btw has anybody scanned the rcdriver issue with the 2013 coverage yet? i wanna see it!

Count me in. I'm ready!

you absolutely dont need to do that to run class2 with your honcho. if your relatively new i'd just make sure your truck is legal for the class and come to run and have fun, and not try to score maximum scale points.

I think I'm winning the battle with the family. Only thing is ..any idea when registration will open. Cause I'll need to put in vacation time. ASAP.

Can you put in for the time now since you have the dates? Are you worried you won't get tickets or won't get a cabin?

It'll be good to see ya! "thumbsup"

Little bit of both. I can get the dates off. Just little concerned bout scoring a cabin.
