I welded up this chassis a few years ago for a buddy and now it has returned to my stables

Chassis is 316L medical grade thin wall stainless tube, (pretty damn light)
similar design to the Lasernut buggies you see in full size Supercrawl series

Custom interior
Will be setting up as a 4ws buggy
Using a VP F9 front axle
VP F10 portal rear
VP 3 gear trans, Holmes extended outputs
VP KMC Bronze Machete wheels
PB Bloodaxe tires

HW FOC motor
Direct power servos

I like the VP Scx I0.2 F9 axle because you can flip the diff upside down on it, makes pairing/running a rear portal easy to setup.

You do have to cut the upper ears off though, but it worked out that the VP servo mount had holes for upper links.

Had to do a little surgery though on the drop out to be able to still run the VP SOA mount

I was interested to see the f10 axles were designed to have the upper link mounts on the housing rather than the third member…

Same here

Gotta come up with a SOA mount for the F10

Driver and turbo are painted

Front axle assembled, flipped diff, SSD brass knuckles, incision gears and universals and VP servo mount

Front Axle is mocked in place to measure for shocks etc...

The short 70mm pro-line shocks will work best for this setup
Put a dlux/dravtech spring and cup these, worked perfect...

Decided to fab my own F10 SOA mount

First had to press an aluminum spacer into One of the existing holes in the truss then drilled out one of the holes on the driver side of the truck

I used a Hard anodized aluminum sheet, will have some bracing on the backside for lateral support.

Made a little template out of paper to get a proper fit then transferred to a sheet of aluminum "thumbsup"

Really nice work! I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Great idea on the servo mount.
