1:8 DUKW- Scratch build

Here's a big ol' DUKW: 1:8 scale, 42 pounds, wood hull, 3D printed details, and scale-looking axles built around Traxxas 1:10 parts.

The scale NDCC tires had to be made. I printed a mold and a friend poured the urethane in...solid! But I needed the weight so that's OK.
DUKWs aren't fast- "She's not very fast, but she's better in the water than any truck, and she'll beat any boat on the highway!"

I built the t-case as well, using some gears from an HG-P602 MRAP, and some purchased gears. Stout. 1.87:1 ratio.

1 in, 3-out t-case:

Don't count on 3D prints to be super accurate. I milled the housings to accept bearings and set the gear spacing.

These bushings were replaced with ball bearings.
