I am hooked on these to, I have 2 bodies, one is the GI Joe with trailer and the other is the Ultimate Fighting Jeep. I am going to make the GI Joe into a full 4 link, SCX 10 based CJ2A scaler and the Ultimate is going to be a 1947 CJ2A Military with the GI Joe traier painted to match.

i just checked out your videos on youttube and was impressed with your rust effect.
if i didn't see you painting rust on the plastic i would have sworn it was all metal.

I'm getting the itch to build one of these monsters, but I'm curious if anyone has documented the various Jeeps that are available? I see several GI Joe Jeeps, but some are much more detailed than others. I also see some made by Dragon and Hasbro. Not sure, but it appears the Dragons may have the most detail? I'm looking for a Willys, but mine won't be military style.
Can anyone shed some light on the differences among these Jeeps and which ones are preferred....any why? I'd sure appreciate it!

I bought a Willy's jeep from onlyinajeepxj ,from the classified section ,best 20.00 bucks I have ever spent joining this site for crawler parts and tech,,I am on pins and needles waitin on mine to show up so I can get started on it ,Going to be lookin for some parts for it ,I have a dilema do I tear apart a good ax10 to build it or looks for parts ,,,,KMS

the Dragons have the most detail but are wider at the front wheel wells
... than the GI Joe Hasbro 2001-2003 Willys.... the wider front makes
steering and shock placement tougher, but they can be done.
the GI Joe is the easiest build...pretty much just cut and bolt to the
existing plastic frame and body. good luck

Thanks very much for the info! So it looks like I need an early 2000 GI Joe Jeep. I assume the old and new GI Joe Jeeps are all made by Hasbro? Obviously, the older ones are way less detailed, though.
