$1.50/gal Gas

Nothing will change unless the truck drivers strike. When they get tired of paying 2 times too much for fuel and go on strike, then things will change.
Stop delivery of goods daily and watch Obama squirm.

Cause (high fuel prices)
Effect ( truck drivers go on strike)
Outcome (LOWER FUEL PRICES

He needs to get off his ass and step up about fuel cost. Unless it's his intention for our economy to fail.
People forget that. We log over 3 million miles a year in our fleet. We deliver all products to our shops and gasoline. You wouldn't believe the back lash we get when raising our coffee/milk prices.

The independents are not getting more money and are becoming priced out of the market. It'll be passed onto the consumer soon - gotta remember these guys need money too.

Thats very cheap!!
Here in Belgium we pay 7.94029198 USD per gallon
(had to recalculate Liters->gallon,Euro->dollar)
Gotta pay for all of those social programs somehow! "thumbsup"

BTW, the state that I live in has almost 7 times the amount of refineries as the entire country of Belgium. Of course your end product will be more expensive....you are having to import a SIGNIFICANT amount of that product.

True:lmao:

But most off the cost for gas here is taxes for the prevention of polluting the air.
Typical Belgium

You want cheaper gas? Use less. No you don't need a halfton truck with 400 hp to drive yourself to work or the store for some milk. But I guess that just makes too much sense

Half ton? Half tons are for wimps.

So? You might pay more but you certainly drive less.
And speaking of Texas our last 3 trips to Austin combined is almost 2,000 miles.

Just because I (or somebody else) happen to be sitting on it youre gonna have to suck my (or somebody elses) d!ck for it if you want any.

I think its hilarious that you guys think that $1.50us a gallon is expensive.

Current Australian fuel prices are AUD$1.47/liter...So roughly $6us/gallon.(AUD$1.55+ for 98octane).

You guys have some of the cheapest fuel in the world and you still think its too high...:lmao::lmao:

Nope, not at all....they are more than welcome to refine their own. It's simple supply and demand....

It's currently $3+ per gallon. It hasnt been $1.50 for years.

And actually, some country in South America has the cheapest fuel....something like $0.20 per gallon....subsidized by their government."thumbsup"

EDIT--I was correct with the country but not the price....Venezuela....and it's $0.02 per gallon.

Even at $3 a gallon...thats like 75c a liter...
If prices were like that over here i know guys that would daily drive their super stock cars....:lmao:

We have pretty high prices compared to other US cities.
Here's a website that has the high/low cost updated daily.
http://www.chicagogasprices.com/
I useually end up paying over $4/gallon... but I run premium in my wrx and I hardly drive it. I take the train to work, walk/cab to bars and friends... really I just drive to the store.

98 octane:shock: here octane starts at 85, and stops at 91 the 98-100 is aviation fuel and about twice as much as pump gas

Its what you are used to paying that makes it hurt. If 10 years ago gas was $3 a gallon nobody would be complaining but when 10 years ago you were paying half as much as what you are paying now then it hurts. The better question is not to compare one country to another but more what were you paying for gas 10 years ago? Also if we want to compare apples to apples, Belgium has an area size of a little over 30,000 square kilometers. The state of Colorado (where i live) has area of nearly 270,000 square kilometers. The reason gas prices are cheaper is because we drive so far here to go anywhere. Most of the best comp sites in my state are an hour or two from my house. That would put me in another country if i lived in Belgium. It is for these reasons why Europe is so expensive then you have places like Australia then the U.S. and then you have Venezuela.

So let me ask you, how much oil does your country refine? How much do you import? And also, what product isn't expensive in Australia? Every person I have met in this country that is visiting from Australia was buying up as much crap (clothes, electronics, etc) as they could to take back because you guys are taxed to hell and back on that stuff. Heck, I have a coworker who, when he visits his family in Aus, brings over at least 5 digital cameras each trip...

Again, simple supply and demand. If you dont make a product and are forced to buy it, then you will pay that price. Dont like the price? Reduce it by making the product on your shores..."thumbsup"

I will be finishing my lifted K5 Blazer this Spring and it has a race engine in it that needs the high octane pump gas..... I don't care what it is, I'll pay for it and drive the Blazer........... The price at the pump will be what it is and there's nothing we can do. Just pay it and drive.

RIZ "thumbsup"

slobin3d: Our pump gas starts at 89octane, then 91, 95 and 98.
Plus you have the ethanol blends which are: then 91+ 10%, 95+10%, 98+15% last but not least there are a few servo's now carrying E85.

paintballer9876: Our price 10 years ago was approx about $1 a liter, in the 90's it was about 50c-70c a liter. So its pretty much kept up with the inflation rate in Aus. But you're right its how much you are used to paying before they jack the price up to shit.

JeremyH: As far as im aware Australia's oil is either refined in house or comes from the Asian market. (not sure of the % split between the 2)
EDIT: Found out that since approx '05 Australia has been importing approx 70% of all its crude. As its cheaper to buy and import than buy the Aussie Crude...
But only 25% of our fuel (as in petrol/diesel) is imported. So we do refine what we import.

You're right mate, living costs over here suck balls (not as much as Europe though).
I get my mates form over there to send me shit all the time because gear over hear is just over the top.
Example; Edlebrock air gap for a Ford Cleveland. Over here price is AUD$500-600. My mate picked one up for under US$300 and shipped it to me.

But for some reason our pump price goes off the American crude market.

As far as I can find, you guys have 10 refineries in your country (including the Kiwis and PNG)....that is less than half of what is in Texas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oil_refineries

See that list of the largest in the world? 8 of those are less than a 2 hour drive from me. That directly translates into cheaper prices.

Yeah sure. But pease god don't buy a prius. buy 1980 Rabbit diesel. 50mpg and doesn't have to be shipped across the earth 3 times to be finished.

hell, my 96 ford probe 4cyl gets nearly 40mpg. the US needs to drop it's asinine emissions rules that hurt efficiency then we can truly have cars that get 40, 50+ MPG and don't cost an arm and a leg, and don't have to be made with highly hazardous materials"thumbsup"

so true.

Although I agree with this I cant stand for it because it would put me directly in the poor house I make a livin' keeping those wheels turning
