1/4 scale Landcruiser

Can’t wait to see those tyres on it. Will really bring the size and style to life.

Neither can I:mrgreen: Was thinking about the rc4wd 1/4 scale burnout axles, not really looking like yota axles but could be when modified;-)

So finally I got home and unpacked the new tires for the project:) Quite big compared to the 1.9 mudslingers!

Yes they are true beadlock rims but plastic... need some steel later;-)

So this weekend I've plans to finally do some more bodywork on the cruiser"thumbsup" BUT I also have something awsome to announce... The power source for this truck will be this engine --> https://youtu.be/RUvvOcbfKdU
Inline 4 cylinder GAS engine, size is 20cm x 9cm and will fit perfectly!

So here's what I've done so far today, inner fenders.

A bit of trimming needed on the underside and then it's ready to weld

Here are some bonus pics;-) last pictures of the wheels were pretty dark so let's try again!

My plans for this weekend didn't go as planned but that's life eh?;-)
only thing I managed today was to build two solid axles so that I can start measuring out all the suspension and height of the frame/body. Also put the old weedwacker engine in there for fun because it's about the same size as the 4cyl engine that will be there later on:)

I've also been searching all over the net for suitable diffs for my custom axles since I thought the RC4WD axles were not really what I wanted after all. So after a lot of researching I came up with these Losi 5ive T diffs, should be coming in mail in 2 weeks or so"thumbsup"

What?? two?? You're living my dream! give me one:D! haha show her just to prove you're not the only one in the world that is crazy about landcruisers:ror:

I've been stalking a few cruisers now that is up for sale on the net here in Finland but sadly I haven't got enough cash yet:sad:

Anyways, back on topic:mrgreen:.. The engine is now ordered and should arrive maybe in a week or two if I'm lucky with all this corona flying around. but I got a bit worried when I put the truck on the scale... As it sits now, less than half the body/chassi made and 4 wheels it weighs in about 8.1kg(17.8lbs). I really hope that the little 4 pot engine can handle all the weight when it's finished or else it will just be a big chunk of screaming metal:lmao:and it was 830$

Here's a picture of a quick mockup with cardboard how I'm going to continue with the interior floor/gearbox tunnel. Nothing fancy but you get the idea;-) as I can't excatly remember how the interior was in a 1/1 cruiser I have to use some half good google images. Maybe carzlutt can update me if I miss something critical"thumbsup"

Small update from todays work. Excuse the rough welding but it's not easy with such thin material;-)

Great progress. The wheel tyre combo puts it in perspective for me now. Scale looks spot on.

thank you for your kind words! It was just pure luck that those wheels fit as good as they do, had no idea how they would look like on the truck:mrgreen:

So finally I'm back home and here's the update you've all been waiting for I guess:mrgreen: The engine has arrived and it is simply stunning piece of art:shock: Even included with an actual working scale radiator!
