So, after watching a ton of reviews and running vids, it seems this thing has very limited flex out of the box. Has anyone found mods that help with this?
I'll be tinkering with mine asap tomorrow. Downside of leaf-spring is the articulation is limited. Doesn't seem like it would be terribly difficult to make new springs though, either out of metal or plastic stock.

I think the rear could be improved but the front seems limited by the servo hitting the battery box. Maybe with some custom work it could be moved around.

Just received mine. Looks sweet. Bigger than my losi micro crawler. Will likely do a new thread with pictures. Proline definitely did their homework though. It has adjustable wheelbase, and the leafs are 3 piece, so you can remove or or 2 to soften it up. The shocks also have internal springs of some kind, so you may be able to remove them without impacting the overall scale look.

I understand there is helper springs inside the shocks. Ditching those and putting some more weight in the form of a model body should help.

Out of the box, it flexes very little. Keep in mind, it is a scale crawler though. Articulation without any force is probably only 1/4-1/2 inch. With some adjustments (removing leafs and internal shock springs), you are then 1/2-1 inch articulation without force. Which is just shy of what a modified Losi micro crawler will do, and is very impressive for a scale vehicle with no modifications. I did this to mine in about 5 minutes, no permanent modification necessary.

So stoked to pick one of these up! Anyone see a. Issue with the current battery setup? For those that own one, does it look like an easy modification to wire up a micro Dean's setup? I'm already sitting on about 6 micro batteries for my other minis... More fun than my modified trail trekker?

Long time no see BD!
I'm thinking about getting on of these for my trip to Hawaii soon. Looks like it could be a lot of fun after I soften up the suspension and make it a little heavier.
Having a blast with this thing. I was a little concerned I'd get buyer's remorse but no way, too much fun.
A few stick on wheel weights have made a world of difference. Suspension needs work for sure.
Just printed a new body for mine. Just have to sand and paint it.

Let's see a build thread on this one.... Killer print. Did you just scan a Bruiser body and then print it scaled down? Unfortunately my printer doesn't have that large of a print area.

Sweet print job. I'm betting that most scale model kit body's will mount up real nice. Worked well for the trekker and etc. Maybe even better scale looks

I can make a thread when I get more done. And I for sure will be looking for more models, I want a nissan hardbody. I found the hilux on thingiverse but the file didn't print well, it fell apart at the seams because it was all separate pieces. I spent some time working the 3d model to stitch the pieces to get it to print. It's not perfect the next will be better. And if your printer isn't big enough, cut the model in half print them separate and glue it.

Elchupacabra, what scale is that body? Most 1/24 1/25 scale model kits were too small for the trail trekker, but 1/20 kits fit perfectly. That body looks more like 1/20. Or maybe I'm just being hopeful.
