1/24 Pro-Line "True Scale" Ambush

Mine came in the mail today. It appears to be defective. The battery took a full charge and shows 4.12v in each cell. Once you plug everything in and turn everything on, only the servo works. As soon as you move the throttle in either direction, the truck powers off.

I thought it might be a jammed or bad motor, but I unplugged the motor and it still does it. In fact, I can here a small electronic pop in the radio brick so its a FUBAR Rx/ESC brick right out of the box. :x

I'm calling Tower in the morning to see if they are as good as Horizon about replacing stuff. We shall see...

I did not get an out of stock notice, I found out when I called to check the order status. That's when they told me.

Wow, in the time between my last post and this post, PL emailed me... out of stock:

Hello John!
Thank you for your order.

We appreciate the order you recently placed for Pro-Line products. We wanted to update you to let you know that the Pro-Line Ambush 4x4 on your order is currently on backorder. Current ETA we have is for early November. Please let me know if you would like to continue with your order or if you would prefer to cancel. We apologize for the delay and we appreciate your patience.

Again, we appreciate your patience and look forward to working with you to assure your complete satisfaction.

Thank you,
Pro-Line

I think I'll just wait instead of spending the extra $20

I ordered mine from PL.com last Friday and they were our of stock then, decided I'd just wait for them as it was cheaper and my locals in aus aren't expecting till November either.

Went to my local Hobbytown today.. they had about 20 of these stacked up.. first time I had seen it.. Def want one.. they had it listed at 199.00. A little too steep to just pull the plug and scoop one for me.. is it Xmas yet?

I have been away from the micro scene for a while. Does anyone know if there is something comparable to the Atomic BB Predator motors that used to be sold by a guy here?

I have an Atomic 90t in my leaf spring LMC and it crawls nice and slow. I also get a lot of flex from the Delrin leafs. I'll be interested to see if I can get that flex from the Ambush steel springs....

Wow, that's too much for this. IMO they are an ok price with coupon that brings it down to about $165, but more than that is too much imo for a micro. I really like these, but high price and worm gear axles are turn offs.

Wow, that's sweet build! "thumbsup"

^^Yes, Danally sells them. I have a 90T and just bought a 100T that I'm waiting for to come in the mail soon...

Good news. "thumbsup"

U.S. Mail is off tomorrow. I'm not sure about UPS but they are supposed to bring my replacement tomorrow too. I hope so.

Most folks are getting them at $165.00 price point and with some simple tinkering with the leafs you can really fine tune it. As equipped with leafs I see it more as a trail rig than accomplished crawler, but whatever you call it be prepared for great fun. Still toying around with mine and still impressed with how solid it is.

Ok so it's been awhile for a select few of you guys that have had these. Have any of you tried a actual 1/24 model body yet? if so how well do they fit?
